making noise outside at 1:30 at night, they admit they were saying did you get it? As long as he had a permit for the gun he had reasonable reason to detain and make a citizens arrest. Once they tried to run him over they committed a crime and he had a right to use the stand your ground law and defend himself.According to the article, they sped towards him, and once he moved out of their path, he began firing shots. At that point, they are fleeing, and there is no threat, he was no longer in their path. It was at best a retaliation shot, which I do not think the law covers.
Considering no crime was committed, escaping someone wielding a gun is not a crime, and they weren't on his property, you'd have a decent claim for charging him with illegally detaining them
