The reason Romo what? Lol
Romo was an above average QB who led his team to top 10 offenses, but when we got to elimination games typically underperformed. He was good enough to win a SB with but needed a strong team and especially needed damn near perfection from his teammates. A dropped pass or a fumble and we could kiss the game goodbye. Compare to Mahomes who had dropped passes, turnovers, and special teams giving up a TD on the way to a 24-0 deficit and he found a way to win.
That said, to pump Romo up, his diehard fans have to exaggerate the obstacles he had to overcome.
Romo had decent defenses to start his career. Certainly better than Dak’s have been. This guy may want to just look at average rankings, but his analysis is sorely lacking. Romo’s defenses weren’t “protected” by ball control like Dak’s defense need to be protected. Romo’s defenses could create turnovers and short fields. They, along with special teams, could also score TDs at a much greater clip than the scoring Dak occasionally has gotten from his defense and special teams. They also put more pressure on the QB back then. But dude feels like he can look at some overall ranking and draw some conclusions that Dak has had better defenses and it’s laughable.
Imagine being so stupid that you think Romo had better defenses than Dak. Then imagine someone giving you the data and being too stupid to understand it. That is the level of troll that is still stinking up this thread days later. It’s always the same weirdos.
He did have better defenses. He also had worse defenses. But you are a Romo loving troll, so no one shouldn’t expect any objectivity from you.
I'm not calling anyone stupid for having an opinion. I just want to know what the rest of the sentence is.
That’s the thing, we don’t need opinions. The data is there. Geriatric trolls drooling in their rooms at the retirement center, obsessed with Romo, no one really cares what they think. We can just look at data. Scoring defense, yards, DVOA, etc. it all says the same thing.
You seem to care about geriatric trolls at the retirement center. Feeling bad about putting dad in a retirement home?
This 100%. I agree above average qb.
Glass Joe was an injury liabilty the last five years of his career, effectively holding the team hostage since Jerry never opted to have a decent backup.
Good ol' Stephen McGee lol.
Could not have said it better myself...
Why the random pick of 2009?
He started 6 games and the defense was garbage that year. You don't need to include it for the facts to be obvious here nor do you need to average them either.
I remember them well, but the stats speak even more clearly, they were not better than they are now. They might have had more star power, but they weren't better.
I don’t mind having this discussion with you but would like to get an understanding of where you are coming from. Do you remember watching these games or are you just looking at a stat sheet? Serious question. I believe you are simply trying to rely on looking at some high level stats, but will entertain the idea that I am wrong.
Even the 2010 defense wasn’t bad to start the season. The defense typically outplayed the opposing defense and were put in some bad spots making them appear to be worse than they were. After Romo went down their play deteriorated a bit.
Let’s try to simplify this, if you had to choose any defense from 2006 - 2019, which defense would you choose?
OOOOoooooooo he got quiet..........................
I don’t even think about Terry Glenn in Romo’s career at all because it was so brief. Yes Romo had talent and so does Dak. The common denominator was Jason Garrett. Now we will see for sure if Garrett was holding this team back.
