Did you guys know Romo though 09-16 won 15 games?

Romo got to the playoffs every year he had talent alongside him on both sides of the ball. 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2014. 2008 team was injury riddled, and the team from 2010 to 2013 was essentially rebuilding.
B-b-but what about his “RECORD VS WINNING TEAMS”!?!?!

I loved Romo too. We have another good one in Dak.

They could run block, but they weren't good at pass blocking.
Yes I do remember them being better at run blocking than passing......but I don't remember them being bad at pass blocking. Far better when Romo got in there than when Bledsoe was sitting the pocket waiting for guys to get open.

Which argument?

That quarterbacks should be judged on wins and losses like they have total control over every other player on the field. Receiver drops the winning TD; that's on the quarterback. Defense can't stop the other team; that's on the quarterback. It's a terrible and myopic way to gauge how good a quarterback is. It's done by those too lazy to carefully examine games and place blame where it actually belongs.

Oh I agree. Its very lazy. IT happened with Romo but starting to happen with Dak too which his crazy to me. Its the ultimate team game. How anyone can see Dak just like Romo had to overcompensate for a bad defense and crappy coaching? Is beyond me. These guys won despite coaching not because of it.

So this is about your ego? I mean I already know what it is about. Its about feeding your ego and praying to be right. Like I said above, I been knowing you are a troll. You root for the Cowboys to do bad. This is what a NFL 2020 fan does. Trolling. Popularized by fans like you who get to hide under their screen name.

If everyone had to use their government name and picture on this site I guarantee you we wouldn't have the trolls we do. Easy to act a fool behind a anonymous image of Dez Bryant and the name of a character portrayed by Jamie Foxx. Funny you have the name Willie Beamen since that's exactly what happened to Tony Romo. He got Willie Beamen'd off the team.

hey, lay off Willie, he's been through a rather difficult time the last few years

For the millionth time, wins are a team stat not a QB stat.

And this period included years with historically bad defenses and an atrocious OL. It's a miracle there were that many.

I don't think we can even boil it down to them having to "overcompensate for a bad defense and crappy coaching." Although that was true in a lot of games, there have been times (few and far between compared to the other problems) that they have played poorly and deserved their share of the blame for a loss.

That's the whole thing. It's a team sport. You win and it isn't going to all be because of the quarterback and might even be despite him. You lose and it isn't going to all be because of the quarterback and might even be despite him.

Win/loss stats are rarely relevant concerning any one player, but for some reason someone decided it was a great way to judge quarterbacks. I can't stand it. No one uses won/loss to judge DeMarcus Ware's career. It won't be used to judge Zack Martin's or Ezekiel Elliott's. The mind-set needs to change.

Of course they have played poorly. No one plays well every game. But Dak and Romo both have had good season that were good enough to be on playoff teams.

And whether fair or unfair....people use W/L to judge quarterbacks because they have the most impact on a game out of the players. Ware never could impact a game like Romo.

Now I don't agree with that. I think there are times when you can tell a good team is being held back by a quarterback. Rex Grossman comes to mind and Mitch Tribusky.

But make no mistake there are teams in this league that can still win when their quarterback has a bad game. 49ers can suffer a Jimmy G bad game and still win. Titans too. Cowboys have never had a team be able to do that. If the quarterback is bad that game that might as well be a loss.

This is a team statistic being applied to the quarterback. People here act as if a quarterback is similar to a pitcher in baseball, they are not.

Why do we always put wins and loses in the QB. It’s just stupid and idiotic for a team sport. Romo a couple years had no blocking and the next couple years had no run game. I’m not absolving Romo or any QB, but defense must do there job and special teams must not lose games and no of that goes under the QB wins and loses column. Russell Wilson had a GREAT defense and a GREAT run game. Joe freaking Flacco had a winning record and don’t you dare tell me he was better then Romo. Romo lost freaking games when he put up 50 points. It’s the most idiotic stat in all of sports! Please stooooooop!

Did I mention that QB wins and loses are stupid!
