No, it's because at his age, one can see how big, heavy and less mobile he is. It's all on video(s) this season.

The Cowboys apparently don't see all on the videos ,the way you do.

Ditto with his age .. the way you are determined to do.

Cowboys trying to create more plug and play flexibility among their backups,.. Farniok OG and center ... Peters OT and OG. etc.
True. That's a good thing. It's better to have linemen who can play more than 1 position.

Looks to be McGovern for right now as a starter, .. they are gradually getting Peters ready thru small taps and snaps at LG.

My question is who will be the backup behind Peters at OT, should he be injured himself ?

Josh Ball ?... Yikes !!
yikes exactly.

What some on this board term as “ jags “ know nothing about football . Guys like Farniok and Lewis play important roles . An NFL roster is not 47 # 11’s . In Lewis case Bland slides in but KJ has to fill a void now get more reps then maybe the coaches want .

Abd with Farniok now you dip into the PS for an UDFA because at 40 Peters can’t be the sole depth at G .
Jag is a completely over used term

Jag is a completely over used term
JAG has been twisted to mean useless; originally since it means Just A Guy it meant someone who would never be a starter but could fill a hole for a while decently.

A real backup is someone that can step in and do pretty well if not as good a starter; and thus not a jag in any way.

No, we just need Peters to play more. McGovern was actually decent on Sunday. So, between him and Peters, the OL is fine. Farniok was only used as a run blocking specialist on short yardage.

Pretty much this is it for him. He’s been on the PS for multiple seasons now. His exemption runs out this offseason. With the depth this thin at OG, if he doesn’t get the call, he’s pretty much done in Dallas.

He did well against Seattle in pre-season game. He had couple of penalties that were over-blown. Most of the big runs in that game came behind him.
