Romo made everybody around him better, like Larant Robinson and Miles Austin who never did jack without Romo.

Dak doesn’t elevate our scrubs, he instead plays down to their level and ends up sucking himself.

And Romo puts up more than 6 points against a 4 win team............just saying

DAK started as a Rookie Romo didnt untill his 4th year in the league so the story is still being written

Then why was Romo not given his job back last year once he was healthy if he is the superior QB?

Because the coaches wanted to keep the momentum or some such stupidity. There was never any doubt in anyone's mind who the better QB was, at least their shouldn't have been. And from the people who saw practice after he returned there was no doubt who was better, I read that from at least 3 different sources. They wanted Romo out because they thought Dak was 'good enough' and they'd groom him to be the next Russell Wilson - no cap hit and someone they could build around. They wanted Romo off the books because they believed they had a cheap option who would let them build around him. It never had to do with Dak being better than Romo, it had to do with Dak being cheaper than Romo. And Zeke hides a lot of warts, so the team was winning.

If Zeke had pulled a hamstring last season and missed 3 or 4 weeks we wouldn't be here now.

Edit: There is a reason they didn't let Romo compete for the job when he came back, and why they didn't offer to let him compete this year - because he would have won handily.

If this is true (not saying it isn't) that they picked Dak over Romo due to salary cap implications and not who was the better QB, the team is getting what they deserve this year.

Well, yeah, they are.

I believe they really thought they had a Seahawks situation lining up - they had a fierce running game, they had a QB who could manage the game and cost virtually nothing, and that would free up a lot of salary cap to strengthen the rest of the roster before his rookie contract was up. I believe that's why they wanted Romo gone as soon as possible, to free up salary cap space.

Now, with Dak struggling, I honestly think this might be the one thing that could get Garrett fired. It was widely reported that Jerry wanted Romo back in and Garrett didn't. Garrett, and probably Stephen (since he seems to be the salary cap guy), basically forced Romo out the door. Stephen can't get fired. If Dak doesn't show marked improvement before Zeke gets back and Jerry is having Quincy/Hutch/Hensen flashbacks at the end of the year... Someone might have to pay for that decision.

But that's all speculation on my part.

All valid points, but I disagree about the Cowboys "forcing Romo out the door".

They retained his rights for over a month into free agency; and when all was said and done, Romo chose to retire. The Cowboys probably would have loved to have Romo back this year; and I can imagine they even discussed a restructured contract.

But injuries forced Romo out. He was broken, and he knew it was time.

I think they retained his rights because they were hoping to get something for him. But I honestly don't think Romo ever wanted to play for another team.

And I really don't think they wanted him back, at least if they did I never heard them say it. If they wanted him back all they had to do was let him compete for the job.

And since he didn't want to play for another team, he could have stayed a Cowboy.

And as much as I like Dak, it's a near guarantee Romo would have won his job back if Dallas made it an open competition. Romo's knowledge of this scheme was off the charts. That's why I think it was the injuries that forced him out.

First of all, I said what I said. You brought up racism. Don't put words in my mouth. Some I'm sure its cause of love for Romo. Some may be because of race. I don't know. You have to ask the individual that has a problem with Dak. What I said is what I mean. Smh. If you want to ban me, do it. Don't come up with an excuse because you're trying to tell me what I mean. I don't bite my tongue.

If you don't bite your tongue then check your brain. You insinuated race and you know it so don't feign shock when someone calls you on it. Own it like a man if that's what you feel.

This idea that folks are being critical of Dak because of non-football reasons is bull. He's played horribly this year. He got a lot of love last year and folks were fawning over him like he was the next Brady. It cuts both ways.

Why did we get rid of the entire secondary in one season?

Why did we think Randle would replace Murray?

Why did we think Chaz Green would replace Leary?

Why did we draft Taco and Jones in the first?

This font office has shown they are clueless that's why.

So you think Cowboy fans are upset with Dak because his is a black man? If he was white it would be ok, but being black he should know his place and his place is not playing QB for America's team?

You just said it in your post above, I highlighted if for everybody to see...............mods should ban you for even insinuating this about Cowboy fans

Just re-watch that drive he had when he came back last year. Capped it off with a TWill TD....

When, in the history of Jason Garrett, other than this supposed Dak argument, has he EVER gone with a younger unproven player even when/if they showed more talent. This argument that Romo was run out is asinine. Garrett has always been loyal to a fault. And don't give me the FO argument. They're just as culpable to being loyal to a fault.

You dont even have to like Dak. You can believe Romo was far superior to Dak. It doesn't matter, Romo is gone because he couldn't be physically counted on anymore. Call all his injuries fluke if you want. Hell, I did too, but those injuries still stack up.

I didn't want Romo to retire. I wish he was still here. He made that decision though, not anyone else. It's time to move on.

Talk about beyond preposterous.
People ply that race card at any chance possible now.
Playi g the race card irresponsibly is the laziest, chumpiest approach to debate.
It devalues real race issues

I wish Garrett played Romo that whole game instead of Mark Sanchez. Dallas would have won easily and would have gone into the playoffs on a positive note.
