LOL

People still actually use yards per game as a way to rank a defense. LOL

Points per drive:

SEA 9th
DAL 17th

And that includes playing against the inept Philly 3rd stringers that put up 0 points.

BTW yards per drive:

SEA 8th
DAL 25th
Are you suggesting that Seattle's defense is better than ours?

That's what you do when you don't trust your pass rush, keep things in front and don't get burned.

That's pretty much part of the sceme isn't it? Keep the play in front of you and don't give up the big play.

Seattle
1. 8 man box to stop the run with single high safety
2. corners plays a lot of bump and run
3. big run-stuff 1-tech
4. wide-9 DE
5. aggressive SLB passrushing (at least in atlanta version of seattle D)

A lot to like

Questions
1. awuzie is big enough to play this, but jordan and brown?
2. jones has a role/fit?
3. who else beyond injury-prone tapper has the speed to play wide-9?
4. are we going to get a large 1-tech?
5. do we have a SLB pass rusher? jaylon?

I have always thought of Seattle defensive success was more attributed to attitude than scheme. So for me the big questions are:

Who are alpha dogs on Cowboys defense to run that Seattle style D?

Scoring defense, we're tied for 13th. You would think that with all of the stars over there in Seattle, they would dominate Dallas' defense. Which shows, all we need to do is get this defensive line going, and get these young guys going. This is why I'd like to have a monster DT in the rotation and a dominate LB and or safety.

I think safeties are the big difference, every time Thomas or Chancellor are out that defense looks very different/weak.

Yeah, I wonder how our defense would have looked, had our great safety in Heath injured his lazy ***.

Dallas 8th in defense / Seattle 11th in defense.

i think seattle had a lot of injuries.
think their d players careers are closer to the end than the beginning.
they probably are rebuilding soon based on new players soon.

*dominant

My hours vary.

we don't have personnel to run that type of aggressive front 7 defense. I think we are closer to Minn. type defense, but need a safety and a 1-tech, because Collins is mis-cast in that position.

This isn't true. They are cash strapped because they paid Sherman, B-Wags & Wilson their big deals. They are going to have to start letting guys go and I think Earl is the odd man out of that so-called "woke" team.

Everyone is talking about the cap space we have now. When we resign Zeke and Dak we may be talking about who we had to let go to resign them.

About a week after the season ended Stephen was asked about the draft. He would only admit that they wanted to continue building the DL. Since we have DLaw and used a first on Taco last year, wonder if this the year they finally use a high pick on DT.

I would love to see us grab Vea.

That reminds me. We also need to force the ball to Dez to "get him going" as well.

Both gave up 20.8 points a game. Doesn't seem like "it isn't close" to me.
1. Seattle had tons of injuries

2 Their defense was on the field much more than ours

3. They gave up 1.71 points per drive. League average was 1.83.

4. We gave up 1.85 points per drive. So we were below average in that regard.

Points are what matters. We gave up same with a new secondary, without parts of the line for most of the year, without parts of the LB crew for most of the year.
