Yes I know I should be focusing on the game tomorrow, but there's plenty of time to do that and besides the signing of an OG Lefffew (sp?), whether he's got anything or not, causes me to think about Riveria and maybe a few other players who we won't be back.

Definitely won't be back:

RG Riveria - cap hit will be lessen in 07
QB Drew Bledsoe - nothing needs be said
OT Jason Fabini - best days behind him

Probably won't be back:
C Al Johnson - need more physical backup center who can play another OL position but could be extended a year while we find another capable backup (maybe E.J.Whitely?)
OLB Al Singleton - solid vet professional who Parcells can always count who might be extended another year; but hope Carpenter or another of our young players comes on.
RB Skyler Green has to really show something this year although Parcells might wait until 07 TC to see if offseason conditioning program/intangibles increase his usefulness.

Need to think about:
OT Flozel Adams - Will be in last year of contract (turns 32) in 07. Cap hit at least $7+M/remains vulnerable to speed rushers/won't get any better but not bad. Cowboys will keep him thru 07 season but hope McQuistan can seriously challenge him or maybe we draft OT on first draft day.

Hope they come back:
OLB Greg Ellis - hopefully recovers from achilles injury
TO - media circus has died down somewhat & he fitting in but attitude/play thru rest of season will determine if he comes back. Parcells is working his magic wand on TO but he's got to step up his play to show he's worth what we paying him. With Romo at QB that could happen.

There may be some young guys on the bottom of the heap who won't be brought back but won't worry about them now.

Bledsoe is a goner... (Thank God).

Rivera-- strong possibility.

Flozell-- I'm thinking 50/50 at this point.

Als-- I bet he resigns at a much lower base.

Ellis-- He'll be back.

Green-- I think he'll be back too.

TO-- Yep. Back.

Al Johnson-- Probably gone unless we can't resign Gurode.

Fabini-- I'm betting he comes back.

Bill has praised Rivera several times. Likes his veteran leadership. He'll be back.

Fabini -- he's signed for next year and is cheap and versatile. He can play both tackle spots and Bill mentioned him as a backup option at Guard as well.

Adams -- that's just not the kind of quality you cut at this point.

Ellis -- Bill said something to the extent of "we're keeping him, he's not dead" - a team that struggles to pressure the QB simply can't cut a guy like Ellis. He'll likely spend time on the PUP.

Singleton and Al Johnson are guys that are very important to the team. If we can hold on to that sort of depth it is a major advantage.

Good overview

We know Fabini/Bledsoe won't return.
Rivera/Adams I'd love to replace with youth and talent, but do we have it on the roster now or plan to draft or sign it? Can't just dump them without a good option.

TO, gladly will welcome him back as long as nothing else happens.

Singleton, wouldn't mind another year as a veteran backup with Carpenter.

I don't know if Rivera will be back or not, I think he's been playing a lot better recently but I'd still like to see a replacement brought in...hopefully Steinbach if we can pry him away.
Flo, I'm sure he'll be back one more season but I'd like to see a replacement drafted....maybe Jake Long...?
Will Vanderjagt be back? If he doesn't kick better I don't think he will. Josh Brown is the only FA kicker on significance next offseason. Do we use a draft pick on a kicker....?
My biggest question and concern is will Terry Glenn be back? I hope his condition doesn't force an early retirement. If it does, that could be a problem. Even if he's back, will it turn into a lingering injury? We have some bigger WRs like Hurd who can step in and perform but we still need that speedy, precision WR.
And will BP be back?
If not, I'd like to bring in Jeff Fisher. He has nothing for talent but has his team competing and turning upsets every week. I think he has always had the titans ready to play, disciplined, and performing regardless of their talent level.

I think that Skyler Green is a great potential candidate for NFLE. Though I'm not sure what position he'll be sent over as. WR or RB? I still haven't quite figured out why he hasn't played at the same level in the return game as he contibuted at LSU.

The only guys I think will be gone are Bledsoe and Rivera. I think down the road, he will be the weakest player we have on the OL, and he makes too much $$. I think we will draft a replacement or sign a FA.

Bledsoe will want to start somewhere.

FLo will get one more year to improve and recover some mobilty from the knee problem before he goes. We will likely draft a player here for the future.

The rest of the guys stay, unless TO has a blow up later. BP has done a good job of handling him, by largely ignoring him.

The only player that I'd put money on being gone is Drew Bledsoe. There is no rationale for him to stick around. I think every other player on the roster, including the damned kicker, is even money one way or the other.

Due to the cap numbers, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rivera around for one more year. Unless Parcells is totally convinced Procter can take over, there isn't a viable starter in place and little to no depth.

I think Dallas will be hard pressed to keep both Gurode and Johnson since both are free agents after the season. I think he'd like to find a guard who can back up center.

Bledsoe is likely gone. The team will need to find a veteran backup and hopefully draft a young #3.

Singleton may be back if he agrees to a minimum deal, but is likely gone as well. That also kind of depends on the draft, the recovery of Ellis and Carpenter's progress. Personally, I'd like to see the team draft another OLB/DE type.

I don't know why, but I think a perfect backup option to groom behind Romo is John Beck from BYU. 3rd round.

Kenyon Coleman is gone. Dallas will find someone young in the latter rounds of the draft to fill the the depth of the d-line along with the continued emergence of guys on the current roster.

It would be nice to see this team stick with some of the OLD guys on D... and go after some young studs on O for a change!!!

I like what Coleman, Elllis and Big AL bring to the table!!!
