What happens when Romo gets knocked out of a game? Its going to happen.
This year, Bledsoe will enter the game.

Next year, someone else will.

Is this surprising somehow or am I missing your point? Do you think Bledsoe is the only player in the NFL capable of being a backup for the Dallas Cowboys? I mean, what's your point?

No way will Bledsoe be back and we shouldn't want him back. None of us want to play the kind of game using him would require. If Romo goes down and Bledsoe's our backup, even God can't help us.

I think we sign best vet FA QB out that who has closest style to Romo so we don't have to adjust our game plan too much to be Romo's backup. Our #3 QB should be a young developmental (either 2nd day or undrafted FA) we can bring along. If he's any good, he could challenge Romo in 3-4 years but doubtful he'll be able do so; anyway we tried that guy for an early 2nd pick or even 3rd rounder if he shows enough.

I don't even know if I would use the term "capable" anymore to describe Bledoe.

It's way to early to tell really, but with the last two seasons surprise departures like Key, Coakley, Glover, Allen, it wouldn't be to much of a stretch to think a few established players will get the bullet.

Also Bill likes to factor in draft picks fairly quickly so unless you are a lock for the team- Romo, Roy, Witten, Newman, Ware, you can be trade bait.

But in saying that, nobody knows if Bill will be back or if the Cowboys will win the superbowl and have players demand more money. Nice problem to have.

I just hope for next year they sort out a stable FS, after bill called it the "QB of defense", you'd think by week 12 in your fouth year as head coach of a team somebody would be a regular in that position.

I don't know why, but I think a perfect backup option to groom behind Romo is John Beck from BYU. 3rd round.

Would love to have John Beck in Dallas next year. I'd hate to give up a 1st day pick for him though. If Trent Edwards from Stanford goes undrafted...unlikely....would like to him get signed as well.

Starter - Tony Romo
Backup - John Beck
Scout Team - Trent Edwards

Damn, that looks good! :)

Bledslow for sure is gone, Johnson, and i think Singleton too. 60/40 on Vanderjerk being gone (if he improves he'll stay) im 50/50 on Flozell. Ellis, Gurode and T.O for sure will come back.

The only player that I'd put money on being gone is Drew Bledsoe. There is no rationale for him to stick around. I think every other player on the roster, including the damned kicker, is even money one way or the other.

Good call Hostile, Beast thinks like you.

Other than Bledsoe, who I will hold the door for and call a cab, everybody else has a chance to stay and Dallas is well under the cap for next year, so no cap casualties.

Only thing Beast is not happy about is Mr. Wide Right. Other than Josh Brown, there are no quality kickers in FA next year. This means we are probably stuck with Vanderchoke.

I know this clown is going to cost us a game here real soon, almost did against the Colts. Imagine if we are playing in Chicago in the playoffs and he shanks the game winner with no time left........I would go freaking postal!!!

Left tackles don't grow on trees.

We have enough cap room.
Flozell has to stay.

Maybe I'd feel different if McQuiston played some during this year.
Maybe say goodbye to Flozell after the 2007 season if we have a replacement, but not before that.

Plus I think 2007 is the last year of Flozell's deal anyway.

Also remember that people rarely get to 100% the year after ACL surgery. Usually 2 years until they regain their form from before the injury.
