How about Vanderclank?

I think we might keep the shankmeister. You ever notice how he kicks the ball to the right side of the goal post? Maybe we should lower the sole of his left shoe to compensate for his right-sided kicking.

I don't know why, but I think a perfect backup option to groom behind Romo is John Beck from BYU. 3rd round.

At first, I was thinking round 3 or later. However, I'd almost prefer them to try the Romo route again. Late round or UDFA.

It looks like Romo should be the starter for awhile, so take some time to develop someone.

Maybe something like NE did with Cassell.

I think whether Bledsoe comes back or not will be left up to him. I doubt that he would come back as a back-up, but only he can say that for sure.

Flo will be here at least another year. BP has already tagged McQuistan as the future left tackle, but I'm sure he isn't ready yet and won't be until the end of next season. No need to rush Flo out the door yet. There is enough cap room to keep him.

Rivera has ups and downs and as players get older they start having more downs than ups. I think he might retire, depending on how this season plays out.

Barring a major explosion or implosion, I think T.O. will be back. I think Terry Glenn will be back. He still has his speed, moves, and hands. If his knee holds up he'll play next year.

Al Johnson is probably gone. Somebody will pay him a lot of money, and he'll play well for them. We'll offer Gurode a lot of money and he'll probably stay. I liked Johnson, and thought he'd win the position, but Gurode is having an excellent year and I think we need to keep him for a long time.

Al Singleton is like a security blanket for BP. If BP drafts another tweener LB in the first round, he'll be gone.

The Cowboys liked Matt Baker enough to keep him on the practice squad, so, I doubt they'd draft another QB. They will probably wait until after the draft and sign another undrafted free agent to compete with Baker and to have another arm for camp.

Aaron Glenn may finally retire, depending on how the season plays out.

As far as the draft goes, it'll be defense again. It may seem boring, but defense wins championships. My early predictions: First day: a big NT probably to be ready to replace Ferguson is a couple of years, then another CB and yet another OLB. Second Day: OL, OL, WR/RB/KR.

An article today quotes him as saying he wants to try to play another 5-6 season. Plus he signed a contract extension earlier in the year.

I think you bring Bledsoe back as a back up, unless he absolutely doesn't want to play that position. It's nice to have a vet backing up your young starter.

Al Singleton I would also bring back, because he's content at being a backup, and if he is, so be it.

I think it's time to move on with Al Johnson, we need to draft or pick up a center in FA, and allow Gurode to stop wasting his talents at Center. He can move to right guard and send Rivera packing.

I don't have a problem bringing TO back for one more year providing he keeps it all together, and giving our young receivers another year to get better.

How soon folks forget that Gurode's AWFUL play at RG is the reason that Rivera is here.

Bill has praised Rivera several times. Likes his veteran leadership. He'll be back.

Fabini -- he's signed for next year and is cheap and versatile. He can play both tackle spots and Bill mentioned him as a backup option at Guard as well.

Adams -- that's just not the kind of quality you cut at this point.

Ellis -- Bill said something to the extent of "we're keeping him, he's not dead" - a team that struggles to pressure the QB simply can't cut a guy like Ellis. He'll likely spend time on the PUP.

Singleton and Al Johnson are guys that are very important to the team. If we can hold on to that sort of depth it is a major advantage.

Rivera is actually balling like he used to.

Due to the cap numbers, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rivera around for one more year. Unless Parcells is totally convinced Procter can take over, there isn't a viable starter in place and little to no depth.

I think Dallas will be hard pressed to keep both Gurode and Johnson since both are free agents after the season. I think he'd like to find a guard who can back up center.

Bledsoe is likely gone. The team will need to find a veteran backup and hopefully draft a young #3.

Singleton may be back if he agrees to a minimum deal, but is likely gone as well. That also kind of depends on the draft, the recovery of Ellis and Carpenter's progress. Personally, I'd like to see the team draft another OLB/DE type.

We have Tarullo still on the PS and he plays both G and C, so he's a possibility.

Bledsoe is toast.

Vanderdoink, is likely gone before next year IMO, he's barely making his extra points, everything goes right.

Flo, Rivera and Fabini the $/production ratio for all 3 is way off...I just don't see us carrying that much dead money, so I think we keep Flo for one more year.

Singleton only sticks if Carpenter struggles or Ellis loses quickness from his injury...a real possibility.

If we have no real issues, we will probably give TO another year

I agree with that. I'd feel like we were wasting a pick by drafting a qb in the the third round.

Get a guy that is a very good QB at a lower level. Someone that has displayed good accuracy in a pro-style passing game.

And I want a good "QB" not necessarily a good "athlete".

Thanks for the reminder that we still have Truillo on the PS and that he plays C and OG. Just wonder how well he at both positions; does he play center well enough that we'd trust if to back up Gurode? Obviously we don't know answer to that--only people that do is our coaching staff. Of course as I've already said we also have rookie E.J.Whitely (last player we drafted in 06). I'm just thinking we gotta resign Gurode cause he's shown that he is a legit center for us and Johnson simply isn't physically enough for Parcells--even tho Parcells likes Johnson. Johnson also doesn't play any other OL position which is a downer and also think Johnson would get more money starting elsewhere then Cowboys willing pay a backup. I can easily see Johnson as backup and then starter for the Broncos. He'd probably be a probowler for them someday.

The only player that I'd put money on being gone is Drew Bledsoe. There is no rationale for him to stick around. I think every other player on the roster, including the damned kicker, is even money one way or the other.

What happens when Romo gets knocked out of a game? Its going to happen.

it was a compliment, and some support so that you don't have to be attacked everytime you come on the board, you can put your defense mechanisms down

Here's a name that I think is no better than 50/50 to return next season.

Julius Jones.

At some point I think the Cowboys will have a problem signing both RB's and I think this is the guy that might be more replaceable. He is terrific yes... but he's going to be very expensive and will command alot of value in the offseason.

I will be ecstatic if he's a Cowboy for a long time because I do think he will be productive. I'm just not sure from a business standpoint we will be able to afford him AND MB3. I think Barber is a Cowboy 4 Life.
