The only thing that’s keeping us ahead of the teams in our division right now is our QB who many Cowboys fans want to get rid of.
No doubt . But what if we were in another division. Would this QB be enough?

Yeah I’m good letting everyone go that we did, but I would like to see a couple of replacements in FA. Either at ol, wr, de or lb.
Don't worry, when all the choice pieces have been taken Dallas will be all over the leftovers

The moves are good in the sense that they are technically doing what I wanted them to do.

And that's tear it all down, don't worry about wasting Dak because he stink's and you're not winning with him anyways, but use the next couple years of Daks contract to build a good foundation and have that in place just in time for a new QB to take over.

When it's time to get a new QB the only current in house player you should have on a big contract is Parsons. Lamb and Diggs still have to prove it.

It's genius really. It stinks for the short term, but if this is the long term plan then I'm all for it.
Problem with your theory is Dak is 49m next year 52m in 2024 and they will push his $$ number down the road and he is here for the next 6 years minimuim because Jerry truly believes he is a elite QB and he is a Jerry pick and may be his last QB, Dak has Jerry's hands tied and nothing is changing for the next 5 or 6 seasons.

Unless you think you’re one or two players away going after premium talent in FA is too costly over time .

FA should be used more for bargains not chasing. Look at the teams chasing it. They think they could only be 1 or 2 players away. We are much further away.

We'll that one thing we never have to worry about is this team chasing after any free agent no matter how good they've been or whether they are young or getting a little older.

Prob not … unless he gets hurt. Or he goes 2 or 3 straight non playoff season. Either is possible.

Fans can spin what they want in an attempt to try and find positives from losing good players but not finding a way to keep Cooper was not a good move. Allowing Cedrick Wilson to walk wasn’t a good move. It could be argued it would’ve been better keeping him than Michael Gallup. We’ve lost two of our top four receivers. We’ve lost three starters on offense and one starter on defense who we wanted to re-sign but they turned their back on us. Every player we’ve lost is currently being replaced by downgrades. Unless we hit a home run in the draft with at least two or three impact rookies and come up with a couple of solid free agents it’s likely to be a struggle next season. I’ll keep saying it we had our shot last season and blew it.

I will agree about the shot we had last year, and that losing Cooper was a big loss from a skill point, but there are good things.

Parsons
Odighizuwa
Goldson
Joseph
Bohannan

The defense improved with all these rookies who contributed and played significant roles last year. They now have a year under their belt and another offseason to improve, get stronger, and learn the defense. Jabril might be back from injury and maybe a role for wright.
It is not hard to put a positive spin on that.

We would’ve been battling for a wild card in the other three NFC divisions. We were 6-0 in the NFC East. Our QB is good enough but the team around him isn’t. A lot of talent but too many underachievers and we’ve moved on from some. I personally don’t think any other QB could’ve done much better with this team. Once our OL started to regress it became a struggle. Poor coaching decisions and penalties caught up with us.

Look at the ones we have this era . Didn’t work out cause we were much further away than that player.

It’s not like the 90’s when we were more like that 1 player away.

In Cap era you have to hit big on a QB and draft well really every year from top to bottom, just hitting in 1st and 2nd round isn’t enough. Because the Cap forces you to churn your roster.

I don't know about that.

I feel like Dak is going to start regressing. The offense overall will be worse next season because of what we've lost already and Dak isn't good enough to elevate it when needed. Jerry might change his mind about Dak, especially if he gets a new coach in here that knows what they're doing.

These moves would be fine if they followed it up by improving the offensive line, defensive line, and LB spots, but that isn't the case.

Not hard putting a positive spin on Parsons he was outstanding but Osa disappeared after a solid start. Losing Gregory is going to hurt the defense. Our pass rush isn’t where it needs to be. Our leading sacker was a part-time edge rusher. I’m pretty sick about losing Cooper and Cedric Wilson. Gallup is coming off an ACL and I’m not real thrilled about any of the receivers behind him. I know everyone is excited about Connor Williams moving on but now we’re stuck with McGovern who’s even worse. The young players are going to have to step up big to offset some of the losses.

The $$$$ are going to bind him to Dallas and Jerry will never blame him and you are not going to see a talented QB in Dallas as long as Dak is on the roster, Jerry is all in and that is why its 26 years and counting.

I believe Dak is a top 10-12 QB. While I don’t believe he’s the reason we aren’t having more success he isn’t like a few of the more Elite QB who could possibly do more with less.

You have to build a better team around him. A stronger defense and running game . We have seen how much more effective he is with a pounding running game . But is this front office able to put that all together and then keep it together ? IDK.

And that’s not necessarily on Dak. It’s on our organization. Even with Romo who I thought was better I often wondered how we’d do with our dysfunctional ownership and toxic culture if we had one of the Elite QB.

Unfortunately we just haven’t landed one this era. Was Romo and Dak enough to build around . Of course for most franchises.

I have a feeling unless it's a injury Jerry will never admit it's QB4's fault, the scapegoat mentality is strong in Jerry and the HC is a reflection of that. Look at all the years JG hung around Jerry just can't admit he makes mistakes and the team suffers for it yearly.

That's why this year, I think is so frustrating to many. I'm not of the opinion that we were one player away after watching Dallas get mowed down by a team that barely made the playoffs. But, with the cap space they have, it would be nice to see them at least seem to try and fill a hole with a proven player if it doesn't cost a ridiculous amount. I think this team is farther away than many like to think.

He was All In with Romo too until he wasn’t. I suspect Daks run could end in similar fashion.

Parsons was outstanding. The roster is nowhere near being complete. Everything is assumptions right now, but there are a bunch of young guys to be excited about. Lamb had a 1102 yard 6td season last year and 935yard 5 td rookie year.

I am curious about the Oline, hopefully they get some good upgrades and depth

No doubt this team is further away.

I certainly wouldn’t advise to chase one player in FA when we are so far away. Focus on the draft the next couple years. By 2023 and two awesome drafts we could be a contender again.

That doesn’t mean we might could shore up our roster with some FA bargains. Sometimes a veteran is released and can get him cheap. Doesn’t have to be a star name.
