Dilemma: Dallas is winningest NFC team in regular season over the last 3 seasons

Philly was in free fall, LA was awful early in the season when we beat them and the refs gave us the win vs Detroit.
Perhaps a better way to put it is that they can beat good teams, but only when those good teams are slumping. When is the last time Dallas really got into a heavyweight fight exchanging haymakers and came out on top? I pretty much can't even remember a single instance in the last few years.

They are almost unparalleled in the modern era when it comes to regular season success not turning into at least modest playoff success.

What makes a team "built to win" in the playoffs vs the regular season? The answer to our question probably lies there.

Really just depends on what the organization's goal is. If you want to be a great regular season team that is happy to just get into the playoffs then mission accomplished.

If you want to REALLY COMPETE for a Championship, what you have been doing is NOT WORKING.

Did you pick the Packers?

Are Aikman and Jimmy clueless?
Not necessarily but I predicted there would be a gut check game before the NFC Championship. I certainly wasn’t surprised we lost. The team looked awful in December. All the homer fans got excited when Dak ran up his stats vs Washington with a coach halfway out the door.

The Boston Bruins had a historic regular season last year. NHL historic, not just Boston historic. They then got bounced in the first round by an 8 seed.

The playoffs are a different animal. Being built to win in the regular season isn't necessarily the same as being built to win in the playoffs.

While I enjoy winning, and Mike is good at that, this team didn’t take a step forward. We were healthy sans LVE and Diggs

The running game regressed and the passing offense got sharper IMO. The D unfortunately regressed.

Yep, too bad we melt like an ice cream on July asphalt when the playoffs roll around. But against Carolina in October ? I’ll take Dak and this offense all day.

Not applicable. That's a series. No team beats us in a series of games. Our talent would win out just like in the regular season.

For instance, the 49ers won that game 42-10. We probably win game 2 by two touchdowns.

Yet have STUNK in the playoffs when it really matters.

Like Aikman and Jimmy said after the disaster loss to Green Bay---they did not expect it at all.

If the front office put together a roster that has won more games(36) than any NFC team in the least three and 2nd only to the Chiefs (37) in the entire NFL, why should they be able to predict a Green Bay flop when almost all of the experts didn't?

The solution isn't so simple that a bunch of fans on the internet would know more than Aikman or Jimmy Johnson.

The solution has to be out there, but its tough.
It comes down to injuries and who is playing well at the end of the season.

The regular season records are irrelevant.

Apparently ditching a QB that can play one of the hardest positions in sports is the right answer.

Not that coaches couldnt get anyone open in a Playoff game. Not that our defensive coach couldnt stop the run in a playoff game.

Just ditch the QB and hope a rook can get the job done. More money to players that have to play for coaches that cant game plan for Playoffs. Makes tons of sense.

Yeah...QB has the yips in pressure situations. Cant put a number figure on it or guarantee it will happen unless its all fake and made to happen on purpose.

Get Dak a run game and decent coaches and he probably excels like other QB's.

Dak aint the problem. You cant prove he has yips. QB market and bad coaching are the problem.

What is our record against winning teams in the past 3 years?

You're right. We just need better pre-game hype speeches. By the third game the 49's would be afraid to even come out.
