Direct Tv is getting killed

I pay for the Sunday Ticket so that I can watch the Cowboys or whatever game I want. It's a crock of crap that one doesn't get what they pay for. It should never happen. Luckily, it didn't happen to me today. Next time...

So Bleu your answer to this is to pay extra for HD in order for me to see the game I pay 250.00 a year for? Yeah, that makes sense...

Nah. I'm just messing with you dude.

I watched the game on DTV and had no issues and watched the game.

I sense its cable and DTV local that "broke" away for other games. Local viewers would be out but DTV viewers not if you paid. If You are watching DTV "local" channels you are risk for this.....

I pay all day every day for DTV NFL Network and the NFL package!

Democracy is a beautiful thing man! I gave up cable 3 yrs ago and will never go back.

Next stop after Dtv: Verizon Fios when it comes to my area.

You guys need to call the retention reps at DTV and not the regular CSR's.

Directv said it's not their fault. Fox switched and never gave them permission to lift the blackout in the local areas that were watching on Fox.

They didn't offer me anything. He said I should call Fox.

Yep. Call and tell them you're canceling your service. They'll give you the key to the safe on your bill for the next 12 mos or so. heheh

I called the number you posted and the dude knew exactly why I was calling and said he heard from numerous people, but it wasn't their fault. I said I'd have to think twice about buying NFL ticket next year. He said, sorry, call Fox.

I hung up....and then told him to bite me.

It would have been much more effective if you had done that the other way around. :laugh2:

In the past few years the local games were blacked out and you had to watch them on the local affliate. This year thats not the case for whatever reason. Personally, I think its a area zoning type of thing. I had every game fine thus far. Thats why I think its an area zoning deal.

Just called their Customer Service number and went off a bit on them. The girl was very nice but she sounded exhausted. She said for the better part of the last hour they have been hammered with nothing but calls from people who were ticked off about the switch. She offered me 6 months of showtime, (Which I don't watch) and HD programming.

She said that she has heard the same thing from everyone and she had no idea that one team had that many fans who were that passionate about their team. She said the call center is bottlenecked with calls over this.

Good for them I say.

So for those of us who watched the game on 723, what was the issue?

Hostile;1678176 said:
No, they shouldn't. These guys shell out a lot of money and got screwed out of it.

I agree, I was so pissed off I still have problem to calm down... gees

Fox decided that since we were killing them that they would switch to the feed for the GB/Min game instead of ours.

Apparently DirecTV subscribers were unable to get the game even with the Sunday Ticket package.

Correction: Directv customers with Sunday Ticket and HD didn't miss anything.
