Thankfully people that play sports don't have a losers mentality like some that watch and talk about sports on the internet do.

We are the favorites. We'll be favored in every game.

Bet against the odds if you're confident. Or whatever you call it.

The first loss I don't even worry about. Should have won that game. Second one was bad weather but I'll grant the Cowboys played awful.

One can't argue with the fact that our losses to the Giants were close but "shoulda, coulda wouldas" don't count as wins, nor do they impress the outsiders who prognosticate about the so-called contenders.

Its realistic to assume the team that mowed down the NFC aside for 2 games by a total of 4 points shouldn't win 1 playoff game? No.

Whether it's realistic or not isn't the question, imho. What really matters is whether or not we prove it. Until we do, there will be doubters. The prognosticators outside of the Dallas faithful freely point to our two losses to the Giants as factors that cause their doubts. We may be favored by the "experts" in Vegas in some instances but vs. teams like the Falcons, Giants, Packers and the Pats, I think there may well be instances of doubt.

I'd rather be the underdog anyway. The Cowboys have a history of choking when they're the favorites.
You ain't kidding. The underdog is every teams dream. The underdog has nothing to prove...its the best position to be in. What team really wants to be the heavy favourite. Wonder, if the Packers and Seahawks are listening!!

As mentioned, I think it's the rookie QB. I'm sure The coaching staff has the same concerns..I wonder how patient they'll be if Dak struggles

Hopefully, not patient at all. Opportunities like this are rare. We saw how Minnesota and NY made Dak look like a clueless rookie who couldn't convert a 3rd down to save his life. Romo would not be sitting there, trying to figure out the D, while waiting for someone to get open. Romo's experience and skill would be critical against the top defenses in the postseason. Maybe we'll get lucky and face Detroit in the first game and Atlanta's D in the NFC Championship game. I think the AFC team in the SB will likely have a good D and I'd much rather have Romo in there. If Dallas loses in the postseason, I think they'll regret how they've handled the Romo situation and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him win a ring with Denver next year. The best QB on this team is on the bench IMO.

I have my doubts but I had my doubts all season and I am always proven wrong by these guys.

With home field advantage and destined to play against flawed teams, two of which we have already beat, it is not realistic to count us out...it's stupid.

Room could've just as easily thrown 3 interceptions against great defenses. Listen, I'm a Romo fan but I'm not going to sit here and act like I haven't seen him struggle a few games a year every season especially against a team that can get inside pressure. Every QB in the NFL has bad games. Pointing out two bad games a rookie had seems a little harsh when he has quarterbacked a team, in his rookie season, to a franchise record.

IMO he wasn't even half bad against the Vikings. Our offense easily puts up 27 if not for legalities.

The complete ineptitude on 3rd down in those 2 games was what was very troubling. Something like 2 for 22 (or 24?). That's Osweileresque. He looked lost in those games. Hopefully, we never see that again. Dak has been exceptional, but Romo is the better, more experienced QB at this point in time IMO. We can certainly win with Dak because he is good and rarely turns the ball over. I also believe he does not present the deep passing threat that Romo does. I think Zeke would've had an even better year with Romo in there because defense could not have cheated up as much as they did vs Dak. I simply believe that our offense would be better/more dangerous with the 3rd highest rated QB in NFL history (who is healthy) at QB.

I don't blame the third down inefficiency entirely on him. Yes he played a part but penalties put us in some bad situations as well.

Regardless, he is allowed to have a bad two game stretch when he follows it up with the best two game stretch of his career going against two playoff caliber teams. Is Romo better? Probably at this point but Dak is 13-3, can't understate that and he deserves the job.

It's not that they were "bad games", it's that he looked lost and like a rookie. That's what concerns me. Of course, he IS a rookie and that's totally expected. He has been beyond incredible for a rookie and better than most QBs have been at any point in their career. Dak has been a godsend. If we did not have an All-Pro, 14 year vet, who is healthy, on our bench, I'd just hope for the best. The fact that we do have a guy who wouldn't potentially look like a rookie out there is what bothers me. We have one of the best QBs in the game on our bench and he would make this O more dangerous IMO. Dak has been GREAT, I just think that Romo is better at this point in their careers.

So 07 just fits inside the decade long window so it's relevant. Got it.
If they beat Green Bay then we beat them does that start a new decade of relevance?

The fact that you think Sunday's game Is a factor at all is concerning.

When have you had a good feeling about the team?In 2012 you rarely, if at all, posted during the winning streak.
If you can't get behind a 13-3 team that sat most of its starters and all of its best players Sunday then when can you enjoy being the FAN of a team? You seem to want to bring others down as well. It seems odd to me.

Possibly there's a site that purely focuses on critiquing a team or sport and that may be more enjoyable for you.

The facts are the Giants under ELi have a history of beating us in playoff/elimination games. It started in 07 and the last time we faced them in an elimination game in 2011 they beat us again. Nothing changed after 5 years, when it came down to do or die they found a way to beat us. Not saying we'll lose to them again but they have our number in the games that matter most. We mailed it in on Sunday and Garrett said entering the season finale in 2014 that we were playing to win despite that game being meaningless because that's how we do things here and we pounded Washington. We entered the playoffs on a positive note and it led to us winning a playoff game and giving Green Bay all they could handle. Garrett talked about entering the playoffs with momentum but decided to pull a Wade Phillips and mail the game in causing us to play our worst game all season. He pulled Dak when he wasn't even playing that well and played our worst QB most of the game to make sure we looked like crap entering the playoffs. While we were mailing that game in the Giants knocked Washington out of the playoffs playing all their starters despite the game being meaningless to them because that's how they do things and it's led to championships.

Green Bay looked good winning on Sunday and Atlanta went out and got a win. The last time we mailed a season finale in, looking ahead to the playoffs it led to a one and done in 07. You would have thought we would have had enough pride to go out and try and do something this franchise has never done and win 14 games but NO we want this season to resemble the 2007 season as much as we can. Hopefully Garrett doesn't give his blessings to players to head to Cabo before the playoffs. Both Dak and Zeke's MVP chances may have been affected by kissing off that last game. I said a few weeks ago wrapping things up too early may have been the worst thing that could have happened to us. All I know is the 2 playoff games we've won the past 10 years we headed into the playoffs on a winning note. The times we lost our season finale it led to a one and done. Again, I'm not saying the same thing will happen but we've looked our best in the playoffs after finishing the regular season with a win. We should have played our starters a half and allowed Dak to get into a rhythm before pulling him. He took a solid hit on one play and that scared Garrett and he pulled him sooner than he probably planned.

Zeke should have gotten some carries he still had goals he wanted to accomplish and you could see he was disappointed. He's never been on a team that's mailed a game in. I had a good feeling about the team but ending the season on a sour note has lost some of the optimism I had. I felt good about the team beating Detroit in 2014 in the playoffs and predicted a win. I liked our attitude heading in and the way we were playing. We kicked butt in that final game against Washington despite it being meaningless because Garrett said that's how we do things here. We were 3-2 in Dec/Jan this season which isn't very good. We're not playing our best football right now and we'll just have to see what happens in the playoffs but the odds don't favor us reaching the SB. I'm not saying we won't reach the SB but the odds aren't in our corner. If my posts have a negative affect on you don't read them.

After reading about half of this thread, you'd think the Cowboys were 3-13 this year.

You're right. The Cowboys should forfeit.
