Don't know if anybody caught Mike and Mike this morning but Iron Mike was on and Greenburg was saying that Brady might be the best there ever was. Asked Ditka if he agreed and Ditka said something like, "Hold on just a minute. I've played with a lot of great ones and I don't know that I would take Brady before I'd take Staubach......".

I thought that was very interesting. Have to say that it made me smile just a little bit.

I always like watching Ditka.

I actually love it when he puts Irvin in his place.:laugh2:

That time he told Irvin that just because you talk louder does not make you right had me rolling.

I LOVE Mike Ditka. Am I the only one that noticed that our "decline" started when he left to coach the Bears. I'm sure there were other coaches (e.g. Ermel Allen) and factors that contributed, but he was great as a Cowboy...

I would take Brady over Staubach too. Brady is 3 for 3 in SB's. If they make this year and win he is 4 for 4 and in the elite company of Bradshaw and Montana.... I gotta throw in this side comment: Haley w/ FIVE SB's = amazing!

It's difficult to compare this era with the non-free agency era. Staubach lost twice to the Steelers who had multiple Hall of Famers and is considered one of the best teams ever. They won 4 SB's in 6 years when teams stayed together. In my opinion today's football is watered down.

Look who's going to make the Super Bowl this year from the NFC: Bears, Eagles or Saints. The Chargers finished 14-2 and should have been beated by the Seahawks who were in a down spin like the Cowboys. It's a weak league.

Today's football requires good coaching to make the difference. The Patriots have the best coach in the NFL. That's why they can replace players and not miss a beat.

That's what we're lacking in Dallas. Parcells has put a good team together but I believe Parcells has lost the passion and fire. Look at his demeanor on the sideline. He has a give-up face and sounded like a beaten man during his press conferences during their slide. The Old Parcells would have had a coronary trying to inspire his team. Well, at least that's the way I see it and feel. His skins on the wall have not done us any good.

He just wants that last 5.5 million to retire.

Well, Staubach was a Jackie Smith right in the middle of the chest dropped pass from winning 3 Superbowls.

And I'm sure nobody is going to say that Brady was the main factor for winning the first Superbowl.

NE is a defensive team with a good QB, lets not be fooled into believing that Brady is running around out there winning these games by himself. He had a great O cooridnator in Weis, a very good defense and one of the better pass blocking Olines in the game. Alot of people are quick to give all the credit to Brady and dump on other QBs, but lets not forget that NE was a defensive team first and foremost. Brady definately deserves his share of the credit but he isnt close to being the best ever in my opinion.

I wouldnt....

look at the two super bowls we lost with Staubach...we were underdogs against two of the best Super Bowl teams of all time...New England has not played all-time great calibar teams in the playoffs...

Staubach was a better player and played against better opponents...there were a greater concentration of dominant teams in the 70's...during Brady's time there have been none

I like the short little mini skirts better, much easier access.

That was stupid, however, a fact that not many know about that trade...not only did they get R. Williams, but, they also got 140 lbs of Devils weed too!

ONE player in the HISTORY of the game of Football is a Heisman Trophy Winner as a QB, a Super Bowl MVP as a QB and in the NFL HOF as a QB.

One clue. It isn't Tom Brady. :)
