I'm rooting for D-Law, but let's be honest. This team's annual sack leader for the next decade is named Micah Parsons.
Funny. This time last year he said he was focused on winning a ring (implying that he wasn't beforehand). He cut his dreads off.
He must be dead serious .
There are two people that walk earth that think that Lawrence is a sack guy. Maybe three.I like Lawrence better than many of the fans on here seem to, but I don't expect him to lead us in sacks. I'm hoping he gets 10-plus, but I think players like Parsons and Williams can give us more than that.

Oh I think he is a good player, but paid like a sack guy. Typical around here though. If it were up to me he would still be refusing to get his shoulder fixed. He's a good pressure player. He's been among the best in the league in that regard some years. But at this point, no one should expect him to put up more than the 14.5 he had in 2017. Reality says if he stays healthy, his sacks will land somewhere between 6.5 and 14.5, and likely on the lower end.
I have an appreciation for the player for the other things that he does for this team, which some do not seem to appreciate, but that doesn't mean I think he's a high-sack guy. If he can get back to the 10.5 he had in 2018, to go along with the pressure he creates and his run-playing ability, we should all be happy with that.

Sick of D-Law flapping his gums. Makes more promises he can’t keep than anyone ever. Shut up and play....I mean he's never been a sacking type of player. Does good job with QB pressure and stopping the run.
Wish him luck though..

Again, I think he is a good player, and don't judge that on pure sacks numbers like most. He's the 14th-highest paid DE in the league this year, tied with Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat. Graham's best sack year was 9.5 in 2017 (same year Lawrence had 14.5). He did have eight in 2020 before missing nearly all of last season. Sweat's best year was 7.5 last year.
I know Lawrence redid his deal, which he should have done based on the last few seasons, but I had no problem with him getting what he got. At the time, he was considered to be among the top DEs.

But there's no way in the world he has lived up to the 100 plus million he was given by this team, and he was probably never that player. Jerry has this funny little idea that if you pay someone as if they are a certain something, they will be.
If you had no problem with it, then that's OK. I did and do. But, we couldn't let his holdout ruin that season, because that was our year.
Writing big checks and hoping are a big part of Jerry's GM skills.
gimme those sax !!!!! AKA QB tackles for 1 yd loss lol....I mean he's never been a sacking type of player. Does good job with QB pressure and stopping the run.

That is his goal I hope he reaches it. DLaw does a lot on defense but his sacks have fallen off. Man needs to get double digit sacks
Yup...that was the market.....for sack guys.I don't get riled up over deals. Most players get what the market is paying. At the time, that was the market for Lawrence.
The whole team is like this
All talk. When the niners came into their house and punched them in the mouth they cried like babies
Just do your job. - Bill Belichek. Stats are for losers.
Is that a Belichek quote? Love itUnfortunately, a large contingency of fans can't get it thru their head that it isn't all about stats.
I understand why players & agents want them .... but that is for winning a different game.
