DLaw is quietly the team's best defensive player!

Lawrence went for years being basically the only threat we had (I mean, we tried to line up Taco Charlton at the other end for Pete's sake), facing a huge amount of double teams with fickle fans fussing about his contract and play. It's good to see him getting a chance to benefit from the attention drawn by Parsons.
Those fickle fans only fussed when he blackmailed Jerry by refusing surgery and then insisted on being overpaid. His own fault.

DLAW was beloved until he made a huge mistake. Held out for top 3 DE pay and refused to get surgery until the contract was done. He's a very good player and needed to be paid, no doubt. Around 15 mil would've been a great contract for both him and the team. Instead, he chickenpooped the whole thing and made everyone think a lot less of him. That's what caused him to be hated by fans.
Yeah but the problem with fans are they don't realize business is business and you gotta separate the player from the contracts and most can't do that I'm sorry but yeah that was a strong business move probably brought on by his agent and they held their ground but in the end he helped us out last year restructured his contract took a little bit of a pay cut and I believe if they're gonna keep him here going forward he's gonna have to help a little more so in the end this is water under the bridge my man I wish social media wasn't this open with all these players contracts and gets fans involved with them it doesn't matter.... Being a shrewd businessman and fighting for every penny you're gonna earn in the very short careers that these guys have you can't be holding them responsible for that I didn't like it either but it didn't change my mind about the player...

I don't hold a man's money against him. These players understand that this is their business and want to get paid as much as they can get paid.

I have no problem saying i have under appreciated dlaw for far too long. I have been aggravated by his lack of sacks and yes he has off games but he is our most consisitent defensive player and that includes parsons. Now if Parsons would get the holding calls he deseves (or not be held) Id have a different take.

I think this year has been one of dlaws finest and he saved our bacon on many plays

It just seems whenever the team needs a game changing play it usually is DLaw. Yesterday, right before half he deflects the pass that turns into an interception. Team never looked back after that play. He has done this all season long and doesn't get much of any credit. In my opinion, he is the team's defensive MVP this season.

Tank has been that guy for Dallas ever since he was drafted. One of the best all around defensive linemen in the league. His playing style is an old school throwback in all the right ways.

He is undoubtedly a talented football player, but his hustle and effort are also undeniable.

I hope that this team can finally get Him, Zack, and Tyron a ring before they ride off into the sunset. They all deserve it.

Don’t let them end up like DWare, Witten, Dez, Romo, Murray, and Frederick.

He is one of the guys that buys in 2 Quinn and busts butt "consistently," which was the part that was missing before.

He kinda plays that other side you know kind of like Tony tolbert was kinda unappreciated because it gets lost in the mix with the big sack numbers from the guy on the other side just using it as an example off the top of my head I'm sure we can come up with a better one but you know we've had a couple of defensive ends like that that didn't get a lot of credit because they didn't put up a lot of sack numbers but they did a lot of other things..

Yeah but in my opinion he hasn't been sold on that himself he literally seemed to not be interested in going after the runners from any position and he all he wanted was sacs and he was crying about not getting the holding calls and he seemed to be a little down from game to game but the last four games he seems to be more positive he seems to be on board with being an off the ball linebacker at least 50% of most games and he seems to be more aggressive in tackling the runner... I think it took him a while to realize he wasn't going to get 19 to 20 sacks this year..

I know that's what he wants he wants to be considered one of the best and you gotta get in that range to be a true defensive end but once he settled in I think he's playing better then he has his whole career right now so he's now the last four games looking like we hoped he would...
I would sign or draft a DE this offseason and keep Parsons at the mike on obvious run situations.

Look I don't need to be sold I've been supporting tank since day one I get called a Homer because I try to get people to look for the NFL from the inside out...

instead of what they're trying to look at in stats and hype and people can appreciate some of The Dirty work that some of these players do they didn't appreciate zeke who cares if he was starting to crumble and get beat up he brought a lot to this team even the last two years when he wasn't at his best as a runner The Dirty things that he did for this team showed up this year that we didn't have it...

Here's going to be an issue with the front office figuring out how much to pay this guy I think they thought he was almost done he restructured his contract took a pay cut much like Tyron Smith and then here we are with both of them having one of their better years So what are you going to do with them?? How much can you afford to pay these aging players even if they're playing well you can't extend it out too far and then it backfire when they fall off the Cliff..
They are going to have to find a way to keep both Tyron & DLaw, just playing too well.

That was beyond good business, that was blackmail. Refusing needed surgery? Man, that's just almost cowardly.

I would understand if the difference was between 50 grand and 100 grand, but those few extra mil quite simply are not going to make any difference. So, yes, I do blame him for holding out in this instance.

Well if you want do that then just give Sam Williams his shot I believe he can be it plus we got the rotation going on I'm sure we're going to still have Armstrong possibly get another guy I don't think you need to draft a high defensive end we have him on this team I think people are down on Sam Williams because of a couple scrapes he's been in he's been inconsistent but if you put him in full time increase his snaps by like 50% I believe he going to do pretty well... I know I know fans are going to say we can't count on him but I'm telling you to give the guy a shot.. By the way it's been in my mind the entire time Sam Williams has been a Dallas cowboy that he is the future replacement for tank which makes a lot of sense but I think if he grows up in the offseason just you know being smarter not getting in the doghouse this guys got all the talent in the world.... I actually like him so you want to put someone in more often for Parsons that's the guy we already have him.. I think the draft you're going to need to have your priorities and that's not gonna be a priority..

We need a true middle linebacker probably biggest priority in this draft probably the first-round if there is one downhill athletic future elite middle linebacker.... I really haven't thought about the draft so I don't know what else is the biggest need but for sure middle linebacker over defensive end for sure

I do if it straps the team and keeps us from success. I'm a fan of the team. When a player does something detrimental to the team, I do hold it against him. I want to win super bowls, and players insisting on max money keeps us from that. As a fan, that's what it comes down to. Do you want to win super bowls, or do you want players to squeeze every penny out of the contract. You do not get both. I know, I know, people think there's this perfect little world where everyone gets maxed out contracts and you still win superbowls. Nope. Doesn't work that way. So, if you don't hold a man's holding out for max contracts against him, then super bowls are quite simply not your primary focus.

Parsons single-handedly saved a TD. D-Laws great but Parsons is generational.

He's had an amazing season. A lot of this forum was wanting to run him out of town. Can you imagine our Defense with out him this season?
Yep........doesn't get enough sacks for the money he makes according to at least half a dozen members here. Been preaching not to judge his value on stats. Way too much dirty work

I wouldnt say he's the best but I have never had any issues with Tank's performances. Any good football fan would know what the brings to the team. Sacks alone do not dictate the players performance.
