DLaw is quietly the team's best defensive player!

to each his own ... but the " War Daddy" of this entire defense is clearly hands down Micah Parsons.

Parsons simply never stays block, and Dlaw does not have near the combination of 1st step burst, wiry bend and agility, and closing burst that Parsons does.

" War Daddy " - when offenses break the huddle, .they immediately look around to see where Parsons is lining up .. not Dlaw. .. and there is nuthin' quiet about Parsons' game.
He's the Tasmanian Devil coming at you at the very snap of the ball.

Dlaw is more workman like than sensational athletic, he depends more on out-working, and out technique blockers. He's still solid in his run defense and pressure rate - but he's not elite

Parsons is elite, he's right there in that mix of names such as Myles Garrett, TJ Watt, etc. " War Daddies"
sorry but that's not DLaw.
Parsons is clearly an elite pass rusher, but I saw DLaw make multiple game changing plays this season.

Debateable whether DLaw was truly among the tops at his position.

So it doesn't bother you that he ruined most of the next season by refusing to get needed surgery?
I'm not going to hold a man's business decisions against him. It's not why I watch the game or what I care about. We get too focused on the salary cap and what players are making.

Again, going back to Emmitt, I could be mad at him for trying to get the Dolphins to sign him to an offer Jerry couldn't match. I see no reason to waste energy on that or judge him based on that.

DLAW was beloved until he made a huge mistake. Held out for top 3 DE pay and refused to get surgery until the contract was done. He's a very good player and needed to be paid, no doubt. Around 15 mil would've been a great contract for both him and the team. Instead, he chickenpooped the whole thing and made everyone think a lot less of him. That's what caused him to be hated by fans.
A mistake that nets you millions is a mistake most would be happy to live with.

DLaw held out for more money than he was worth, and jerked Jerry around during contract negotiations with his pending shoulder surgery. It was bad value and bad business for Jerry to sign him. I was against it at the time.

But it all paid off for DLaw, he's been the very good player I thought he was at the time of his contract, and his body has held up better than I expected. I can't fault him for playing Jerry for a sucker. He's taken care of business on and off the field. PFF just loves the hell out of him.

I want my $20m DE to pressure the qb not be the best run stopper on the team. Get me a DT and LBer for that

If I were him I'd go on Micah's podcast and wipe my tears with $20 bills for those fans.

It just seems whenever the team needs a game changing play it usually is DLaw. Yesterday, right before half he deflects the pass that turns into an interception. Team never looked back after that play. He has done this all season long and doesn't get much of any credit. In my opinion, he is the team's defensive MVP this season.
Quite a bounceback for a player whose effort, discipline & dedication were pretty questionable a few years ago.

I can honestly say that I enjoy watching him play nowadays & trust him to give his all.

He is a great player, but better than Micah he is not. Not even close lol
that's true from a physical standpoint ..... but DLaw has become a very consistent player, using his skills & knowledge to be a cornerstone for this defense. All around player at this point, I think I lean toward DLaw.

We have to fix our running game and run defense this offseason. We will take a deeper look after the season.

As for Sam, yes he should be apart of the solution.
imagine this team with the 2014 or the 2016 offensive line and run game?? there were some people on Facebook trying to compare daks 2023 season to Romos 2014 season to Prescott this year.. i tried to tell them that'd be more like prescott rookie year both had great OL and run games. Daks been carrying this offense this year, facts its his bet year because of what hes had to do without a top OL or run game.. Daks 2021 season statistically pretty close to this year but again he's had to do more with less many games including some inconsistent D.

thats why they say it is his best year so fad,. The way hes controlled the huddle, the pocket, and his growth to take over when needed.
