DLaw is quietly the team's best defensive player!

He is a great player, but better than Micah he is not. Not even close lol
Micah needs to adopt DLaws mentality/maturity though, Micah isn’t there yet, smells his own success too much (as evidenced by his podcast after getting smashed by SF).

I do if it straps the team and keeps us from success. I'm a fan of the team. When a player does something detrimental to the team, I do hold it against him. I want to win super bowls, and players insisting on max money keeps us from that. As a fan, that's what it comes down to. Do you want to win super bowls, or do you want players to squeeze every penny out of the contract. You do not get both. I know, I know, people think there's this perfect little world where everyone gets maxed out contracts and you still win superbowls. Nope. Doesn't work that way. So, if you don't hold a man's holding out for max contracts against him, then super bowls are quite simply not your primary focus.
Doesn't matter what I want. Players want to get paid. That's their first concern. If they can get what they want and help the team compete for Super Bowls, then they generally will.

Emmitt missed two games for a Super Bowl team and actually tried to get Don Shula to sign him because in his words, he was negotiating. He says he told Shula to put an offer on the table that the Cowboys couldn't match, but Shula wouldn't do it. His choice could have proven detrimental to the team, but he was wanting as much money as he could get on his second contract.

Some just don't understand how players view their jobs. They want to win Super Bowls, but they want to get paid above all else. Sometimes when they have been paid enough, they might do like a few players have done and take less in order to make the team better, but even the players who do that are still being paid among the top at their position. Lawrence was among the top DEs when his contract came due and he wanted to be paid like it, so like Emmitt, he was negotiating. I don't hold that against a player. I don't like it, but I don't hold it against them. It's business.

Been a big fan of DLaw for a long time now, but better than Micah? No. This defensive front without the threat of Micah would be one of the worst in the league. Even with all the double teams he commands, the rest of the line rarely gets pressure/sacks.

It just seems whenever the team needs a game changing play it usually is DLaw. Yesterday, right before half he deflects the pass that turns into an interception. Team never looked back after that play. He has done this all season long and doesn't get much of any credit. In my opinion, he is the team's defensive MVP this season.
Yep, it's not all about sacks.

D-Law is the best edge setting DE against the run in the NFL. People who value a player based off a stat sheet need to learn football.

Quietly because a lot of the dirty work he does does not show up on the stats sheet. But that's what he's done his whole career. Gotta look at impact, not just stats.

He disrupts plays and other guys make tackles. HE has stepped up since Hankins went down and has become a big part of the run defense

You’re right. Micah needs to adopt that Hot Boyz mentality.

D Law is very very good and has had a great season.

Not the cowboys best defensive player though. But that’s ok.

Well if you want do that then just give Sam Williams his shot I believe he can be it plus we got the rotation going on I'm sure we're going to still have Armstrong possibly get another guy I don't think you need to draft a high defensive end we have him on this team I think people are down on Sam Williams because of a couple scrapes he's been in he's been inconsistent but if you put him in full time increase his snaps by like 50% I believe he going to do pretty well... I know I know fans are going to say we can't count on him but I'm telling you to give the guy a shot.. By the way it's been in my mind the entire time Sam Williams has been a Dallas cowboy that he is the future replacement for tank which makes a lot of sense but I think if he grows up in the offseason just you know being smarter not getting in the doghouse this guys got all the talent in the world.... I actually like him so you want to put someone in more often for Parsons that's the guy we already have him.. I think the draft you're going to need to have your priorities and that's not gonna be a priority..

We need a true middle linebacker probably biggest priority in this draft probably the first-round if there is one downhill athletic future elite middle linebacker.... I really haven't thought about the draft so I don't know what else is the biggest need but for sure middle linebacker over defensive end for sure
We have to fix our running game and run defense this offseason. We will take a deeper look after the season.

As for Sam, yes he should be apart of the solution.

to each his own ... but the " War Daddy" of this entire defense is clearly hands down Micah Parsons.

Parsons simply never stays block, and Dlaw does not have near the combination of 1st step burst, wiry bend and agility, and closing burst that Parsons does.

" War Daddy " - when offenses break the huddle, .they immediately look around to see where Parsons is lining up .. not Dlaw. .. and there is nuthin' quiet about Parsons' game.
He's the Tasmanian Devil coming at you at the very snap of the ball.

Dlaw is more workman like than sensational athletic, he depends more on out-working, and out technique blockers. He's still solid in his run defense and pressure rate - but he's not elite

Parsons is elite, he's right there in that mix of names such as Myles Garrett, TJ Watt, etc. " War Daddies"
sorry but that's not DLaw.

Not saying Parsons isn't more talented, but DLaw made several game changing plays this season.
And I’m saying Parsons made many more game changing plays than DLaw made who is playing fantastic as well.

Not putting down Parsons by any means, he is a star, but in my opinion thought DLaw was the most valuable this season

Debateable whether DLaw was truly among the tops at his position.

So it doesn't bother you that he ruined most of the next season by refusing to get needed surgery?
