DLaw looking for 6 years, $140 mil with $85 garuanteed

I don't know what you do for a living, but my guess is it would be easier for your boss to replace you with someone equivalent than it would be for the Cowboys to replace Lawrence with someone equivalent. Not picking on you - that same thing would apply to me and my working situation too. NFL players have more leverage than everyday people, especially top ones, because you can't just hire a job recruiter to find candidates, hold interviews and find an equivalent replacement.

That said, I'm cool with it if the Cowboys decide not to meet Lawrence's demands. I would hate to lose him, but his contract has to fit within the overall team needs.

You are absolutely right. I work road maintenance and time and a half for plowing snow. I can be replaced fairly easily. I was just joking around because whether or not me or Tank can be replaced, we're probably not going to see our asking price. So in the end it doesn't matter.

Seriously, Tank gotta be hanging with Gregory and Irving doing some of that sticky icky, he must be as high as that number.

I doubt he wants that much

I mean we need Lawrence but not at the cost of not retaining other key players in the future

Pay him that much he needs 25 sacks and 110 tackles in the regular season

6 game winning sacks during the season

And 12 sacks in the playoffs

And also pulling head coach duties from time to time

I would just like to know if D-Law is going to sit back and let this agent lose him money. Or is he the one being greedy. I don’t think any team in the league will pay him this. Maybe a good starting point for them but not going to happen. He could sit this year and lose the 20 million. You can’t get that back D-Law. Ask bell.
he is listening to bad advice from his scumbag agent.

at this point he is a luxury. I don't think the team thinks we can sign him, which is why we are looking at Quinn and Ansah.

he has a right to be greedy..fine, but not to be a moron. The team isn't bound to him in any way. The sooner he realizes this, the better. Its all about job security in the NFL...and so if I am him, I'm firing the idiot agent and getting the surgery done now. Otherwise, no team will want him. He is killing his own career by putting it off. He seems clueless.

And as of now he's not bound to the team as well. Whether its from Dallas or another team, He's going to make bank regardless of surgery because he's a rare talent at a premium position. He has the leverage right now. He can delay surgery til the deadline, sign the tag, get the surgery, miss games and still make $20M. Cowboys had leverage last year and they used it tagging him, now the tables are turned and he's using his leverage.

Im all for spending money and I think our FO is cheap as mr krabs but as far as I’m concerned 14-17 million is the line for me

20+

Cmon sir

Yeah I was rooting for Tank, but we've got too many contracts coming up to be strong-armed now.

His agent moves the goal post as he did then that is a problem. Add to it will Dallas get 2nd half production on a player who is still dealing with the injury.

Yes he is. Teams play more than half their snaps in the nickel, there's no real differentiator between DE and OLB in today's NFL.

What matters is that they both play the edge.
point is, he isn't getting what he wants...isn't happening period.

Not a bad idea, they're probably tired of hearing "pay the man" by a bunch of mathematically challenged fans. Those fans should have no problem with the old Booger, who did exactly that

They're clearly looking for sympathy.

If I was Jerry Jones I would definitely tell tank that we are trying to keep the core players together..he will definitely take a discount If we tell him that
He could care less who they keep. No player in the NFL cares about that. Brady is the only player giving a hometown discount but that was because he had no choice.

point is, he isn't getting what he wants...isn't happening period.
Yea, but almost no player does. Saying "I want $23 million" means "I'll take $21" or whatever numbers.

Lawrence - I want Mack money
Cowboys - You should be at Dee Ford

It's standard negotiating in every sport.

He wants that much, the number he's asking for has gone up through the negotiations. The Cowboys started low and went higher, Tank started high and went higher, that's a man wanting to get paid till it hurts.

It's obvious if he truly wants this much money he doesn't want to be in Dallas.. and what does that tell you. I never took him as a money player.
