2 keys to beating the Saints will involve Romo

#1 don't turn the ball over. that Saints D can get turnovers with the best of them but if they don't they're average at best.

#2 Romo must use his mobility to make plays. Brady was a sitting duck and couldn't exscape the Saints 3 man pass rush. Romo has the ability to do that but he can't turn the ball over trying to make that type of play.

If we beat the Saints NYG and Chargers then we go to from a somewhat underrated team to a legit threat to come out of the east

If we make the playoffs than we're a legit threat.

Regular season greatness means nada. Especially in parity football.

The Titans didnt win the Superbowl last year after going 14-2 and beating the crap out of Pittsburgh in December.

What if the Cowboys DO beat the Saints? Do the Cowboys all the sudden go from a pretender to one of the top 3 favorites to win the Superbowl? Does it go to the Cowboys head (like was noted about the Cowboys in '08 after the 13-3 07' season)

It is just another win. Hopefully that is how it is taken by the team.

We beat the unbeaten Colts in 2006, it did not get us anywhere as we were losing to the bloody Lions five weeks later.

If chris johsnon doesn't get hurt against the Ravens they win it.

If my expectation of this team where any more grounded I'd be in China.

You act more like an extreme pessimist, thought I believe you are purely a drama queen rather than an actual pessimist.

You are here to generate controversy rather than actually put forth any objective discussion.

I can be objective in my discussion.

I guess I am in the minority that thinks we can very well beat the Saints. Our defense is much better than NE and it comes down to which Dallas offense shows.

Our run game (if successful) would be the best defense against the Saints. Keep the ball, shorten the game, and keep our defense off the field -- only chance.

New Orleans and Minnesota both look unbeatable at home...but on any given Sunday any team can win.

Use the run to control the clock and set up play action to hit em deep down the field. We can beat them just like we beat the Colts a few years back.

Unless "Tony Turnover" makes his routine December appearance, we should run the ball on them at will.

And like it's been said, there's no comparing New England's pass rush to ours. It'll be Romo and the secondary's game to lose.

We got to Peyton Manning we can get to Brees except Brees can scramble better than Pey. Our best bet is to pound the rock and keep Brees off the field and our D fresh...

Occasionally. You should try the more objective thing from time to time. I actually like many of your posts when you are not shilling for attention.

That is not very nice. By the way I have one of the forum experts working on your new signature. Hope you don't disappear after the end of the regular season.

New Englands Defense sucked

A great offense can make a very good defense look like crap.

The Cowboys defense has been playing really well lately. Lets see how they play against the the Saints potent offense.

Of course, they should play better if Romo and the offense doesn't hang them by going 3-and-out every time they hit the field.

I pray that if the Cowboys take the lead that Wade doesn't go into full ball control offense too. A 10 or 17 point lead on the Saints is something that can crumble in less than give minutes time.

There's two reasons why you don't want to get into a shootout against the Saints.

a) Brees and their offense is better at it than any team in the NFL.

b) They've amassed a nice, deep stable of pass rushers with Smith, Grant, Ellis, Hargrove and McCray. If you let them just pin their ears back and get after your QB without keeping them honest, they'll come at you in waves. They were in Brady's grill all night.

This is where an explosive running game will stifle a blitz crazy pass rush.

It is interesting to me, the last time Brady played against gregg williams defense was november of 07 and the pats If I remember correctly scored 56.

Williams had some revenge last night.

Last time garrett played a williams coached defense, was december of 07 and we lost with brad johnson playing the most of the second half.

In november the starters scored 28 on washington.

should be fun.

Wait a second, I thought we already gave the trophy to the Giants two months ago when they were 5-0. Now they have to give it up to the Saints?

If we face the Saints in the playoffs it will be two months from now. You can guarantee that both teams will not look like they do today after two more solid months of football.

A few things regarding our chances and New Orleans chances:

1. I think the Saints best shot at losing comes in the next two weeks. Call me crazy, but I could see a huge letdown against the Commanders this week. If they make it through that game, then a divisional game in Atlanta the following week is a prime time for them to lose. I pick those two games instead of the Dallas game because...

2. New Orleans typically plays much, much better in the Superdome than they do on the road. Both the Washington game (cold weather) and the Atlanta game are going to be on the road, and both will be sandwiched between big home games against two contenders (New England and Dallas).

3. The Saints haven't looked like last night's team in all of their games this year. Usually, the worse the opponent is, the worse the Saints play. They were damn lucky to beat Atlanta and Carolina earlier this season, and Miami should have beat them, period.

Finally, in an unrelated note, I will be perfectly fine with a Dallas loss at New Orleans. It seems like it almost always happens that the team that wins in the regular season ends up losing the playoff game, if those two teams meet again in January. Just like Tenn. beating Pitt last year in the regular season and then Pitt getting their revenge when it counted.

I would almost rather see the Saints win against Dallas in December because if we do make the playoffs... we will have to beat them then to advance to the Super Bowl.

And really... that is what we fans are wanting, after all.

After watching the NO/NE game, I agree we will have our hands full against the Saints, .. but our defense is way better than the Patriots.

Losing to them in the regular season may not be the worst thing to happen to us.

That's exactly right,WV Cowboy. Provided we take the NFC East, the only game that concerns me with the Saints is the one in the playoffs. If we're not their first playoff game, somebody mght beat 'em before we have a chance to play 'em.

N'Orleans Looked dang good last night but it's hardly as if they are unbeatable.

They have been playing some fairly pedestrian teams and just getting by. i.e. trailing Miami much of the game, barely beating the rams and other stuff. Which just means their human.

To stay with the Saints you absolutely have to be able to handle passing.

The Pats had a pretty bad game last night. Brady missed wide open guys at times and they got away from the run. Their were flat busted coverages and just generally poor DB play like the safety jumping Shockey and leaving Meachum wide open for the post pattern.

I still like our chances against them better than I do versus San Diego.

Gregg Williams did some cool things with his defense last night but I promise you if you rush Romo with 3 as many times as he did Brady then Romo will carve you up or take off on long runs. Last night was probably the worst game I have seen Brady play in a long time. He was hesitant to use all the free space in front of him and I wonder if he is really healthy.

Ellis wasn't in the lineup when they were getting run on and has Asthma field ever heard of division rivalry?
