No s***... "hey, anybody seen this guy's head around here someplace...?"

Agree about game situation. But talk about being punked. And it wasn't under the breath or a mumble. Just sitting here playing it over in my head and I'm still amazed at how he just ................... walked away.

If he went to get into a fight with the O line and somebody got hurt in the altercation maybe you would be happier. It would'nt have proved anything. All they were doing was talking trash to him, give me a break. If the dbs called TO a "punk a b" he probrably would'nt do anything either. It's just talk. WOW

For whatever reason, Bobby is too damn soft. He was one-on-one with the RB at about 12:20 of the 3rd quarter last night and I swear I've seen HS players use better technique and more meanness when making a tackle.

Tass you are ruining it for me. I am trying to maintain an open mind prior to watching the game when I get off.

No DB would call TO that. You clearly don't get it. There is a distinct difference between talking trash and disrespecting someone.

And here is a news flash for you, football players fight each other. Not condoning it but it happens and more then likely that will never change.

Only 2 LB that impressed me last night was Tyson Smith and Tearrius George. Both of these guys looked like they wanted to play

I agree. Carpenter, in my opinion, was not consistent. He was run over and pushed back a few times that I saw and on one play he was totally out of position and the rb ran for a big play.

1. You dont know if a Ken Hamlin or even a Bradie James would call TO that. And even if you wanna go that route i can say a db would call Crayton that and he would'nt do anything.

2. I know fights happen on the football field but how many of them occur based on somebody talking trash? Get real. Most of the time it comes from something physical and last time I checked Columbo didn't touch Carpenter. But the agendas are running strong in this thread so please continue this stupidity.

The bottom line for me is that I think this team drafted a 4-3 weakside linebacker and tried to fit him into a 3-4 defense.

It hasn't, doesn't, and will not work.

Nah it wasn't that we were drafting a 4-3 LB, Parcells drafted the son of a player he used to have since he could trade/resign as a FA the actual player himself. :laugh2:

1. I do know that neither would call TO or Crayton that. The reason I can say this unequivocally is the aforementioned defensive players RESPECT TO and Crayton.

If you can't tell the difference between trash talk and a disrespecting insult I understand because most people who have never been in that environment can't. Therefore, I won't fault you for your naivete.

2.However, regarding this point you are speaking from a perspective of complete ignorance yet you go on. Amazing. I don’t know if you wasn’t paying attention or you refuse to take off your rose colored lenses but after they said they were going to punch him in the mouth, they proceeding to do so again and again. And guess what Barbie did? He went and got roached, there goes your fight resulting from something physical or Columbo not touching him argument. Also, it is clear that A) you did not read my post regarding this topic or B) you did not comprehend them. Nevertheless, I don’t have an agenda against Barbie. I have stated publicly and privately that I wish he steps up his game, you know why? If he steps up his game that will be to the benefit of the Cowboys but if you like your LB(s) kind and gentle on the field, you can have him.

Bobby sees the game well but clearly does not want to engage the ballcarrier or blockers. The only reason he makes ANY tackles is because he's a smart football player. He plays afraid of getting hurt. Plain and simple. The fact that he plays solid assignment football and that he's a high draft pick are the only two factors that have kept him on the team. I don't know how someone so supposedly rugged can play so cowardly, but credit Bobby for yet again making the roster I guess. :-\

He is making the read but I think he just thinks too much instead of just react to what he is seeing. At OSU he moved well and attacked and did not look hesitant he does now and I think in large part because he thinking instead of reacting. No matter how any of us view this one thing is for sure his play is not acceptable at this point in time and he better get it figured out.

I think it is safe to say that he is a JAG, nothing special.

When your 1st round pick is a JAG after 3 years, he is a bust!!!

He is just always going backwards and afraid to hit anyone his size or bigger.

I am sure he would do a bit better in a 4-3 but not much.

It is really too bad.

the problem is that he's playing the strong-side LB position, he needs to play the weak-side so he can run around blocks like they are asking Zach Thomas to do

or he could be doing that already

Actually, he had all the measurables you'd want in a 3-4 LB. Big, fast and athletic. He'd played with his hand on the ground.

No one anticipated him being so soft. The way he is playing now, he might be OK in a 4-3, but unless he plays more aggressive, he's a bust no matter what scheme he is in.

We'll know what all those guys really think when the final roster is announced.

I get what you're saying, but if they were holding out the hope of trading him last-second, there's no way they'd come out and bash him days before trading him.

:laugh2: I bet Pacman has been calling him a lot of things like that since he came here.

All I'm saying is that before you boast how much the staff loves Carpenter, you might want to wait to see that he actually makes the team.

If he makes the roster, yeah, maybe we're too critical and he does have a spot on this team. If he doesn't make it, maybe some of those praises were just smoke.
