No, I'd like them to have just a little common sense and class. :p:

I knew I'd get ripped for saying something negative about Teh Pac, but so what.

I'm just glad to know no one will complain when Crayton runs his mouth all year.

That class term is so screwed up now, everyone has their own version of what class is. If you can find some other word, to use, you might get some props from the guys that you are disagreeing with.

But really, does matter if the guy talks, for some people it helps them function, concentrate even play better.

Adam, is still knocking the rust, it will take a few more games, may even take until the first 2 or 3 games in regular season, no one knows, not even Adam Jones.

Now here is something to think about, maybe Adam Jones really is not that good, it is a possibility. Before anyone takes that the wrong way(and some still may, after reading this) I like Adam Jones, he is and will be a valuable asset ot our team.

You know it is not just the average fan. Most people are raised to not be braggerts, not be so prideful and not try to show up others when playing sports. You are taught to go out and do your best and let your play speak for itself. If you own someone, you don't have to make it known to everyone because they just saw it on the field.

A lot of todays athletes I guess feel that is just not good enough. You have to beat them and then you have to talk about how bad you beat them, to make yourself look even better!

Yet most athletes have been talking crap for a very, very long time. This phenomenon that you think is so strange and new is not strange and new. Look how much crap the Denver players were doing in the practice sessions.

Also, regarding today’s players, just look at the Muhammad Alis, Mean Joe Greens, Deacon Jones, Joe Namaths, Larry Birds, Art Donovans, and Michael Jordans of the world, they talked more **** then a little bit. This is not new and further they are grown men; if they want to talk **** they have the God given right to do so whether some like it or not.

I'm pretty sure that's all it is. If you read the rest of the story I just posted in the other thread, Marshall gives AJ some props...and a promise to bring a new message for him tomorrow. These guys are just funnin.

and yet the "class" word is being bandied about like the calls for boobies during Mardi Gras

it's not just CLab, I see that word get thrown around way too often that it's lost it's effectiveness, now I just roll my eyes whenever I see someone use the term

I am going to ask this honestly because I was a big Boston and Bird fan in the 80's. Did Bird ever talk trash outside of the court because I never remember it at all. I don't remember him talking negatively about other teams players at all in the media. He might have talked it up on the court, but I believe it stayed on the court.

So it matters where now? On or off the court/field doesn't matter to me besides when was the last time someone smacked Pacman in the nose or put him in a headlock for talking smack? Or did you think Dr. J punched Bird because he didn't like his shoes. Here is an interesting take if you care to read.

Pacman is rusty. I thought he would start game one, and I will stick to it. However, I might be wrong. Nevertheless, I do expect him to start at some point in September.

According to Vela, Newman, Henry, and Pacman posted these YPA numbers. (Vela took the average of Pacman's two years, and he took a 4 year average of Newman and Henry. He didn't include 2007 for Newman or Henry.

Newman 6.2 YPA
Pacman 6.3 YPA
Henry 7.4 YPA

Vela says if Pacman plays up to that 6.3 YPA, he will start. Pacman put up a career best 5.4 YPA in 2006. That was good for 8th in the league. Furthermore, Pacman is just 24 years old. He hasn't hit his prime, yet. Vela notes this in his article. Terence Newman's career best was 5.7 YPA. I think Newman is great, so that should tell you Pacman can play. He is rusty and learning a new system and techniques. The YPA stat is just one measure, and it isn't the end all for sure, imo. Sometimes, that stat might not give a pure picture. However, if you have four or five years worth of data like Vela advocates, it may give you a better picture.

The league average is about 7.0 YPA according to K.C. Joyner. Reeves had a 7.9 YPA last year. If Pacman can adjust and shake the rust and pick up the system and find his 2006 form or close to it, he will help Dallas win, big time.

That is my hope for Pacman. He won about three games for the Titans in 2006 with pick sixes and punt returns for TDs.
