DMN Blog: Cowboys' No. 3 WR in Cleveland will be Jason Witten

no, the guy made it seems like witten would become a WR so keeping Hannah as a 4 TE would be justified.

Witten as a WR might allow us to keep Hannah on the 53.

...oooookay

No he didn't.

He said 'expect Witten to line up in the slot', and Wade said 'Witten can be a third receiver'. Nowhere does it say that Witten will be a receiver rather than a TE.

Witten has lined up in the slot and out wide for some time now. These injuries just might make it more frequent.

Read much? We will have more than two receivers active.

Oh I read it. We are a T.O. or Crayton injury from Having Danny Amendola or Mike Jefferson playing with the first team.

Only two receivers will be active? God forbid we have an injury to TO or Crayton DURING THE GAME.

The Cowboys will have only two wide receivers active on the season opener who have an NFL reception.

I had to read the sentence twice.

Joe Horn is still out there. Just saying.......

and who do we cut to bring him in for a few weeks till we get past this?

We'll be fine. It only means more touches for T.O, Witten, Barber, Crayton, and Felix.

For a game or possibly two, yes. Long term we need a legit #3.

I was talking about the person posting

Hurd's a good player, but we aren't gonna be missing much.

Last year he had 319 yards and 1 TD as our number 3. Sounds like numbers Felix could potentially put up in the receiving game.

We will miss him on Special Teams though. That's what I'm more worried about.

That's gonna mess up our third receiver stats this year.
Yeah...

Witten caught 96 balls last year.

T.O. and Crayton combined for 131.

Marion and Julius combined for 67.

And our backup WRs combined for 24.

But no, the sky is falling. Our offense won't have a prayer without Sam Hurd in the game as our #3 WR.

I just hope we can score enough points to avoid breaking the NFL record for least points scored in a season.

I don't know if this is the plan or just smoke and mirrors to throw off the Browns. But if this does seem to be the plan on game day, why is wade telling the media?
