If in fact we could get a 2nd rounder for Martellus and we passed then we really failed on that.
How did you reach that conclusion?

Just a guess along with everyone else's. Just saying that if we could get a 2nd for Marty I would take that and run with it. The coaching staff doesn't know how to utilize him anyways.

Once again:

I'm using the SAME reasoning you peanut gallary geniuses use when you declare the Roy Williams trade a " bust ". Right from the hip, using " right now " results, without any future consideration or without surrounding factors.

Had the Cowboys kept those picks, NOT ONE of those players would be starting for the Cowboys right now NOR have made any bigger impact than Roy Williams.

Not ONE.

The difference is Roy Williams isn't just some rookie. And he didn't just arrive in Dallas this year.

And I haven't called Roy a bust. I've just said what I said all along, that we overpaid for him.

MacMahon said we were first offered a pick but could've pushed for a player.

If the player was just a sweetener (premium pick being the filling) not sure how much of an "impact now" guy he was going to be. The only positions that could be upgraded w/an "impact now" guy is LOLB or FS.

And how many of the young guys (that are not RBs) could garner that type of compensation?

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he turned down a major trade offer Tuesday.

Of course he also intimated a player was offered to the Cowboys that could have made a "now impact."

Regardless Jones decided to stand pat choosing to not get into more serious discussions with teams.

"I feel as good about what we can do this year as I did last year when I traded for Roy Williams," Jones said.

And this article is worth about...."nothing" How about some details....

10 pages about a trade that didnt happen, and probably was never seriously considered.

Must be a REALLY slow day around here.

only 4 pages for me.

Jerry wanted some publicity today.

He got it..made some noise about some call that probably never got past his secretary's desk.

He's full of it.

It was probably the Bills wanting to trade us T.O. for Austin...

"Please take this P.O.S. back?"

Choice to NE for Thomas

Thomas is in the doghouse and Choice can't get on the field enough... I think if this was the case then keeping Choice was smart because as much as I love the guy, I don't see MBIII in our team's future past 2011, if that.

Me to.

More people should reset their settings to allow 40 posts on one page.

dbair is still getting a handle on the quote function. :p:

(Just kidding, David.)

Austin, Spencer or Choice....I wonder which one.

Jerry said it wasnt a running back so that eliminates Choice. It could of been Scandrick or Jenkins as well.

Jerry said it wasn't a RB. So that rules out Choice, Barber and Felix.

I'm just purely guessing it was the 49ers offering Crabtree for Scandrick, Austin, a second rd pick and a fourth rd pick.

I just watched the Jerry PC on DC.com, and at the very, very end, you can hear Dalrymple say, "We'll release the name of the team that called and the player they were in..... (terested in)"

And then it cuts out.

So maybe we'll find out tomorrow who the player was and who wanted him.

Jerry did say that teams were envious of our front seven on defense. I still wonder if it could be Butler, or maybe Miami or New England wanted Hatcher or Bowen.

And BTW, Jerry said about 10 times that our penalties the other day were "an abberition". Guess that's a combination of a vision and an unusual outlying event.:
