perform or **** off. How do you judge a players performance by stats. Compare his stats to other 3-4 DE's and He's closer to the bottom. So Olshanksy should just go somewhere he's not wanted.

He's about on par with Canty but he should be a lot cheaper.

Exactly. It's not that Canty was horrible and Igor will be All-Pro. It's that you'd be getting pretty much the same player at a lot cheaper price.

It would be one less hole we don't have to fill in the draft. And it would be with a very solid player who already knows the system, to boot.

Our weakest point on the defensive line was Canty. It is not sacks that Igor needs to be brought in for, but interior run defense. Canty wasn't even as good as Spears.

Rat has already played DE...better position for him. Spears is not getting it done at DE and we already moved him at NT some last year, so this is not accomidating or moving someone to a new position.

Spears had a nice season last year at DE. At least that is the opinion of folks who actually watch the games and don't just look at stat lines.

Igor plays the right side like Canty not that it matters, I think they could play either. Castillo was the LDE.

They look almost identical to Canty's to me.

Igor - 179 tackles with 11 sacks

Canty - 148 tackles with 10 sacks


Igor has played one additional year. They look like the same player to me.

Yeah and canted only started 2 games his rookie year....but whatever Igor is still a bum.....

Wait...how do we know the price is cheaper? I certainly hope that is true.

This surprises me -- I would love to get Igor but have assumed all along that we weren't going pay that much.

Maybe JJ's raised the make-a-splash bar given today's cuts.

Makes no sense to compare tackle stats. Those aren't official and every team counts them differently - especially when counting tackles on plays where the tackle was made by more than one player.

Sure -- he's more of a pass rusher. But he really doesn't do that very well either is what I was saying.

I would feel a lot better if we got Igor. Depth along the dline would once again be very good.
