I think the fact that it took literally weeks of waiting out SD to give us permission to hire Stewart says more about him than what some fans on a message board think.

If you've ever heard or seen Stewart interviewed, it's impossible not to like him. He's just an eager, smart, energetic young guy.

the jury is out on him I think...nobody knows for sure other than him and Wade what he does during the week or the games themselves in terms of planning and calling plays

nobody in San Diego was sad to see him go as I recall

David
Yeah, they just love Cottrell. Sorta.

In the first half Detroit had 255 net yards and 20 points.

In the second half Detroit had 123 net yards and 7 points.

I'd say there was a good deal of adjustment going on.

AJ Smith forced Cottrell on Turner I believe...I wonder if he'll be gone after the season

Smith or Cottrell?

Personally, I would get rid of Smith. He has been terrible for that organization since he has been there.

I agree on Stewart.

I think we have too much talent on D to be giving up 20+ points per game.

Those first half numbers are troubling.

Against maybe the 49ers, yeah, that'd be troubling. But Detroit has an explosive offense, when hitting on all cylinders. They're feast or famine. But the real key is how dramatic our adjustments affected their production.

I love how so many posters, not just in this thread, KNEW Detroit was going to run all game.

Seriously, I freakin' love it.

Please call Jerry up and tell him you can see the future.

THe Lions have been so PASS happy all-season long but a select group of posters KNEW they would be 50/50 in their play calling against us.

Whats gonna be the New Jersey winning lotto numbers tomorrow night?

because he was the secondary coach of a bad secondary, sort of like the Tony Sparano situation and our line 2 years ago, everyone thought he was a bad coach because he couldn't polish some turds, just like Stewart couldn't polish some turds in the San Diego secondary, too bad Cromartie came on a year too late for him

• They had already lost 4 in a row passing all the time.
• Head coach said they needed to be more balanced and media was killing him about it.
• They needed to shorten the game so the Dallas explosive offense has the ball less.
• To keep Kitna alive and hold back the pass rush of Dallas by establishing a running game.
• They just lost their star wide receiver for the season.
• Element of surprise against an 11-1 team would help.

You don’t have to see the future.

Ah...but if it was so obvious that they were going to run, obviously they'd realize that we knew they were going to run, and us knowing that they'd know we knew they were going to run, then it'd obviously be the case that we'd prepare for the pass.

Yet they ran. INCONCEIVABLE!!!!

Is this post from 2 minutes ago or before the actually Dallas/Detroit game?

If it was the latter I would be very impressed.

Philly will run the ball and run trick plays.

I don't understand......how LONG does it take to adjust.....we had 3.5 quarters to make a change.
