No need to call in the handwriting experts about the autograph of Giants quarterback Eli Manning on the wall in the visitor's locker room at Cowboys Stadium. The author took credit for it on Thursday.

``It was me,'' Manning said after undergoing treatment on his sore foot. ``I was asked to do it. It wasn't my idea.''

Manning said he wasn't marking his territory after the Giants' 33-31 victory in the regular-season debut of Cowboys Stadium. He was responding to a request from a stadium employee.

``Yeah, I heard a few things about it, but you know, they'll get over it,'' Manning said, adding that other teams have traditional sites for opposing players' autographs. ``Philly has it, Denver has it, it's not uncommon. A lot of places I've been have done it and have been asked to sign.''

Yeah, sure you have.

Cause , we all have heard about "those" other signings.

Weak minded fool. Would of been better if he said "it was MY idea and I did it, so what?"... Would respect him more.

Of course its no big deal, the giants did it.

If the roles were reversed everybody would be coming down on romo.

Just like when coughlin made up the phony story about jerry passing out nfc championship tickets. They went nuts up there and it wasnt even true.

I dont remember them being insulted acting like hey its no big deal.

And I believe the jockstrap thing is true too now. I had my doubts, but now I believe it is true.

Oh, it's on now.

BTW, way to take responsibility and then wuss out with the "It wasn't my idea", Eli.

Who was it that had the Wade sig with "On my signal, unleash Hell!" Time for that to happen.

Didn't Cricket say he hadn't heard of this?

Talk about being outside the Burn's Family Circle, Focker.

Yeah thats about all your worth around here. next time you make an intelligent point it will be the first.

This hasn't been a big story line up here but it's been a hot one in Dallas the past couple of months - especially this week leading up to the Cowboys-Giants matchup. And we've finally got confirmation on it.

The story is an Eli Manning autograph on the wall of the locker room in the Cowboys' new stadium. It was supposedly the real Manning's signature after the Giants' Week 2 victory that opened the place. It looked an awful lot like his real autograph, but it seemed very un-Manning-like to deface another's property.

Unless that person or organization asked for it. And apparently, they did.
"It’s a pretty common thing. I was asked to sign it," Manning said Thursday in confirming the authenticity of the signature. "It wasn’t like I just went there and signed it. I didn’t have a pen on me or anything."

(At this point, a few lockers away, DE Justin Tuck yelled, "Good job, Eli!")

Of course, below the score and the date, it reads, "First win in the new stadium," in what appears to be different handwriting than the signature. But that's certified Manning scribble as well.

"It was all me," Manning said.

Manning realizes the Cowboys' fans and a few players aren't happy about it - even though, again, their locker-room worker asked Manning to sign the wall as the start of a wall of fame of sorts similar to the ones Manning has signed in Philly and Denver (among other places).

"We won't forget that," Cowboys linebacker Bradie James said, according to The Associated Press. "It just makes for a more intense game."

Said Manning, "Yeah, I’ve heard a few things about it. But they’ll eventually get over it."

yeah maybe I should whine in every thread about the Giants and the unfair media towards Romo....

LOL. Once again, their media is trying to cover for them.

Down here, Tim MacMahon would probably scribble the thing himself after studying Romo's handwriting all night.

My wife allows me to look, as long as it is not by braille.

No reading the bumps.

LMAO!

Well played. My wife and I have been together 14 years now. I catch her and she catches me glancing sideways occasionally. We both know it doesn't mean anything. Eventually you reach the comfort zone of middle age, or near middle age in my case.

We joke about hot people on TV all the time.

After we soundly whoop their sorry ***** this Sunday we should leave their locker room exactly as is.

No jock straps, no spray paint, no signatures, show them what a classy team looks like.

For a no-nonsense coach Coughlin is a liar and lets his team do whatever the hell they want.

**** the Giants. They are our biggest rivals and I hope we play like it Sunday afternoon. End their season, like they ended our 2007 run.
