Well, I tend to agree. I think beating Atlanta puts us in the clear cut playoff team category. I think beating the Eagles puts us in that clear cut top 2-3 team in the conference category. It's just taking the next step.

After we beat Philly, the talking necks will say, "well Green Bay is a real test". They (Dallas) beat a bad Atlanta team, and a Philly team with obvious weakness, look at there loss to Oakland. If you can't be Oakland, how good of a team can you be". This week is Dallas' real test. Can they shut down the high powered Green Bay offense and potential leauge MVP Aaron Rogers."

Just saying, get ready for it. We will not get any respect. Least of which, you will hear, hey - Dallas is a great Sept, Oct and Nov team, but I'm not saying there good until they win Dec.

Again, just saying.... Know what I'm saying........

I can't blame them... I wouldn't pick us, either. The Eagles are good. They're at home and just coming off a serious butt-kicking of the Giants.

It doesn't bother me that they pick the Eagles. If I was not a fan, I would pick the Eagles too. What bothers me is that many in the media make it sound like Philly is a lot better team. I don't think they are. I mean, who did Philly beat that is any good. They spanked a Giants team on a downhill slide. We spanked the Falcons who was on the rise. I think the teams are pretty much equal.

If Garrett hasn't added some new hot reads or audibles, which Philly claimed to know last year, Dallas will get rocked.

Exactly. Everybody keeps saying the Eagles are good. Well, so are the Cowboys. They criticize Dallas for not doing well in December. Problem is, they can't even acknowledge that this is the kick *** portion of the Dallas Cowboys season. November has been a great month (12-1). The way this team has been improving from one week to the next, there is no reason whatsoever for the talking heads to ignore these things. Give Philly props, but don't act the Cowboys are the freakin' bottom of the barrel or something. Oooooooh, those Eagles. The Cowboys may as well stay home.

They're not wrong. I think many Cowboys fans feel the same way. There are questions in the Cowboys secondary. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them picking the Eagles. A betting man would. Especially after a 44-6 *** whooping and plus their playing at him. I think its a close game but then again I thought the 44-6 game would be close. All the Cowboys can do is go out there and play.

I will never get why fans expect or want analysts who don't even watch the games to pick Dallas every week. They're doing it in the local media. Isn't that good enough?

Completely agree.

I would be more shocked if Dallas was favored. Currently the line on the game is Philly by 3 points. Playing at home Philly should be favored in this game.

I would be shocked too. Egals are on a tear and Dallas best play it's best game of the season to win.

Dallas could very easily be sitting @ 7-0 right now and they have yet to put together a total game that they are capable of. I'm not saying they will win Sunday but I do feel pretty confident we won't see another blowout. Does anybody think a few Cowboys are ready to deliver a little payback, I do.

This Dallas team is still finding its legs. Still developing and improving hopefully. That is all I ask.

The results of this game will not make or break the season.

And yes, Philly should absolutely be favored.

I'm tired of the "Oh the Eagles are going to blitz a lot and that's why they're going to be the Cowboys." reasoning. It's used every time we play them.

And it never ends up being the reason they win. I've just never seen the results of this supposed blitzing defense.

Barry Horn/Reporter E-mail News tips

NBC's crack studio analysts Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison are both picking the Eagles in Sunday night's battled for NFC East supremacy on their network. Oy.

Harrison, a former DB: "I like the Eagles. This is the Dallas Cowboys biggest test yet, especially Tony Romo. He's going to see a host of blitzes. They're going to disguise coverage and come from all over the place. They're going to try and pressure and knock him in the mouth."

Dungy, a former coach: "I like Philadelphia because I think Dallas still has some weaknesses in the secondary. You can see a ton of big plays from Philly's receivers this week."

I really hate the pervasive (to say the least) use of the word "like" as a repalcement for either "think" or "predict" The actual meaning of the word like is actually in complete conflict with what people mean. They are trying to be objective (I assume anyway) and give a prediction based on knowledge and insight but instead say they "like" this or that. I just find this weird word meaning flip-flop to be very strange but someone started in somewhere at some time in the past and everyone does it.

Outstanding!

I don't want the media feeding the Cowboys anything other than what they are. I don't want them to buy the hype and if there is no hype, it's easier.

Go take care of business and don't worry about who thinks you can win or not. None of the media thought Oakland could either.

I agree. And I wish Cowboys fans didn't obsess so much over what/which experts pick against Dallas.

Just keep winning.

Many on this board are ready to proclaim Dallas champs and Romo the next great QB. No win or loss means that much unless this team proves their backbone in the playoffs, if they get there.
That philosophy should cut both ways...but it doesn't.

I think this game will be more like a street fight than a football game. The Cowboys had better go in there not only expecting a fight but they must take it to them if they are to win. I think this game will tell us a lot about where this team is and where it's going. Still, to win they need to stay more focused on the game than the fight. I think they will play a lot better than they did at the end of last year.

I may not be a total homer like I used to be  but I still like to watch a good game and I think this is going to be a very good game.

This team owes Philly a beating and it will be interesting to see if they're man enough to do it now.

I'm a betting woman and I'll take the fools bet on the Boys. Your statement after that is the #1 reason why? The experts are not taking into account that these men remember getting their tail handed to them by 44-6. Don't discount the testosterone factor in this game.

I believe the Cowboys want to embarrass the Eagles the same way they were embarrassed. I believe this is a grudge match. Brookings wasn't here for it but Witten was and from what I can tell, that taste is still in his mouth. And his boy Tony is tasting it too.

Few on this board are still living in the 90s. They have no vision. This is 2009. This team has been through hell and are showing signs of getting out of it. You can't show up in the playoffs and win a game because the old Cowboys did it.

There is turn over in players and coaches. It takes determination and drive to reach your goals. Just because Tony threw a multiplicity of INT's vs. the Giants doesn't mean he's going to do it against the Eagles. He has learned from that game and is doing all he can to protect the ball. We almost beat the Giants despite the TO's. Without us giving them great field position and points, we should have outscored them handily (if not for our ineptness). But lets not cloud the issues with the facts.

This D couldn 't buy a stop or a QB sack early in the year. They are vastly improved since then. This is a different team. Give them credit for what they are doing now, and not what other teams have done in the past.

A wise man once said "without vision the fans perish". If you can't see that this team is different and better than the others ... and better than 3 weeks ago, then you won't and never will see a playoff victory. Dag, you won't even see the next victory.

That was last season this is now thats like taking a players stats from last year and using them this year. Things change on teams over the course of a year. The cowboys shutdown the atlanta falcons which undeniably have pretty darn good arial attack.

I knew it. Atlanta was a big game and a "huge telling game if the Cowboys are for real" before it, but since we beat them handily, Atlanta actually just sucks :lmao:

They didn't say anything close to that. They said this is Dallas' biggest test yet.

When you look at the scenario, they're right.

Divisional game, 1st place on the line, primetime and coming off a 44-6 embarrassment the last time they were there.

The Atlanta game was big in its own right but this game easily overshadows that one.

I dont have a problem with anything they said. I still dont trust our front 7 to be consistent, especially against a scrambler like McNabb, and I definitely dont trust our secondary, much less with the game on the line, cause we're not blowing them out.

They're going off of recent history. We went there last year with our season on the line and gave one of the most pathetic displays in recent history.

It's not about rocking an Atlanta team at home with a terrible defense without their best Corner. This is an entirely different monster and no one knows that better than Romo who's had some of his worst games ever against whether it was at home or in Philly.
