Man, it was SOOO heartbreaking to see him miss homerun shots b/c he was tripped up just enough to stop him. But it's in him, it's there! I think we will see Felix Jones break off 50+yd TD runs this season.

Here is to him hitting a couple of homeruns next Monday night against the Eagles.

Fine debut for Felix Jones

First-round RB Felix Jones didn't get a carry until Marion Barber bruised his ribs, but the rookie certainly didn't disappoint when he got his chance.

You want instant impact? Doesn't get much better than scoring on your first carry. The most impressive part of Jones' 11-yard TD run wasn't his burst through the hole, which everybody knew he could do. It was the way he put his head down and dragged safety Sean Jones into the end zone.

"The thing about Felix is he's not a scatback," Jerry Jones said. "He's a back of his own, as you saw on some of those inside runs."

But it's Jones' big-play potential that folks are really fired up about. Three of his nine carries went for double-digit yardage, including an 18-yarder that was an ankle tackle away from being a 67-yard TD. Oh, and he had another big run negated by a holding penalty.

"Everybody saw what Felix Jones can do once he gets that ball and has a crease," T.O. said.

In somewhat related news, Steelers rookie RB Rashard Mendenhall had 10 carries for 28 yards today.

But he only did 8 reps at the combine, he shouldn't be able to drag anyone.

I think Jones will turn out to be everything Reggie Bush was supposed to be.

From what I saw, the guy is nothing like Reggie Bush in the way he runs. He is not a perimeter player, which I thought he may be considering I didn't watch him at Arkansas and saw only highlights. It looks like Felix Jones is special in-between the tackles which makes him totally UNLIKE Reggie Bush. He has great vision.

With this OL, Felix and Barber should have field-days...

He could be our Brian Westbrook. When I saw him run in space in the pre-season I thought OK lets see how he does in the regular season. What I saw yesterday was the same thing. If he sees a crease his acceleration is almost intantaneous.

I hope he has better luck then JJ did with all the good runs he had called back by stupid penalties.

I am all for the optimism, but he was pretty much up against a defense that was spent.

I was disapointed that they didn't get him into the game sooner, although perhaps we are saving him for Philly? On his first run I couldn't help but nod and smile from ear to ear. He is going to rack up some huge yardage in the 3rd and 4th quarters of our game.

Dude can take it to the house everytime he touches the ball.

Said since the minute the pick was in back in April- we absolutely made the right pick. He is definitely going to be an impact player. And just think, he was never really utilized at all today in the passing game, which is a big part of what he adds to the offense.

This strikes me as weird because Wade said he didn't want Felix to return kicks because he would be used a lot on offense however he didn't get in the game until MB3 got hurt.......
