First-round RB Felix Jones didn't get a carry until Marion Barber bruised his ribs, but the rookie certainly didn't disappoint when he got his chance.
You want instant impact? Doesn't get much better than scoring on your first carry. The most impressive part of Jones' 11-yard TD run wasn't his burst through the hole, which everybody knew he could do. It was the way he put his head down and dragged safety Sean Jones into the end zone.
"The thing about Felix is he's not a scatback," Jerry Jones said. "He's a back of his own, as you saw on some of those inside runs."
But it's Jones' big-play potential that folks are really fired up about. Three of his nine carries went for double-digit yardage, including an 18-yarder that was an ankle tackle away from being a 67-yard TD. Oh, and he had another big run negated by a holding penalty.
"Everybody saw what Felix Jones can do once he gets that ball and has a crease," T.O. said.
In somewhat related news, Steelers rookie RB Rashard Mendenhall had 10 carries for 28 yards today.
