DMN Blog: Isaiah Stanback to have knee surgery

Wide receiver Isaiah Stanback will undergo surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee.

Stanback suffered the injury in Tuesday's workout at Standridge Stadium but attempted to practice Wednesday without much success.

He is expected to be ready for training camp that starts on July 28.

Stanback has been troubled by injury since the Cowboys took him in the fourth round in 2007. He has had shoulder surgeries in each of the last two off-seasons after suffering a foot injury as a senior at Washington.

Stanback is competing for one of the final wide receiver spots and his absence will put him behind entering camp.

This is not a great way to head into training camp but Stanback will have to deal with it and earn his way on the team. At this stage I would not be suprised to see one of the other young WR beat him out of a job.

Ha. That was my first thought too. Can't imagine he would be though...Smith was good really from the start. Stanbeck is a project all the way.
