DMN Blog: Isaiah Stanback to have knee surgery

No shocker
No, but it is disappointing. We all saw the flashes, but some players are snake bitten. I feel bad for the kid.

I doubt it.

Jimmy Smith actually demonstrated he had a position. All Stanback has shown is that he's an impressive athlete who can't stay healthy long enough to learn anything.

Has he really? All I have seen is him run downfield on one kickoff after Felix had put it on cruise control.

IMO, his health has little to do with what position he is used to playing and more to do with his build, training, diet, hereditary predispositions etc. It's not like QBs don't get hit....

They're not even in pads yet and already he's hurt :bang2:

ain't that the truth and this point play either of the two rookies. I'm tired of this Stanback project.

Isiah Stanback played QB in college. He is NOT used to getting hit.

He ran the ball over 200 times in college.

Next?

was he a RB or a QB. Does the QB position minimize or emphasize CONTACT?

Who cares?

He's more fragile than a newborn.

I wanna know how he does anything outside of football. If just running around is enough to sideline this guy, I'd think a set of stairs would be damn near nightmarish.

Even if his knee is ready by camp, his shoulder still might pop out at first contact...

I wish him luck, but right now it just doesn't look good.

Most of his runs were planned runs, not scrambles. Every defense knew he was going to run the ball 10 or more times a game. He was running behind blockers just like an RB. This isn't a guy running for his life b/c the line sucked. He was used as a running weapon.

Yeap if it's not his knee it's his shoulder or something else. I hope he has something lined up for after football.

All rueage aside, I don't know how anyone could possibly be surprised by this. Definitely disappointed...I hope he makes a quick recovery so he can compete in camp. If he can't, I can't see how we could possibly keep him.

Here comes the funny...

'Stand back everyone, Stanback is hurt again'.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Remember when he was going to be the fastest and bestest and greatest and coolestes punt returner the Cowboys had ever seen?

:laugh2:

What does 'Tash' mean? I thought it was 'Flash'
'Tash' was actually 'Stash' until Quincy Carter stole the 'S'.

About the only positive thing I can think of is that Isaiah Stanback was not injury prone in college.

The Liz Franc foot injury his senior season was the first big injury of Stanback's career.

But it's hard not to expect something else to happen during training camp, this guy just hasn't been able to stay on the field since getting drafted.

I'd love for Stanback to make it, but even if he does, I'd then be convinced he'd never last the entire season.

It just doesn't seem meant to be.
