Well that's it then for him, have a good career, Stanback.

If we put him on IR though, then at least we have the spot open. How bad is the tear?

The article said he should be ready to go by training camp.

Of course if that was our medical staff's prediction..... then he might be back by week 5 or so.... -.-

I wouldn't think it was too bad because Isaiah Stanback tried to practice with the tear on Wednesday after suffering the injury on Tuesday.

But there is no telling with a meniscus tear.

Some players can bounce back and start playing again in little more than a week. For others it can turn out to be a season ending injury.

I hope he comes back 100% by training camp so we can finally see what he's got. I doubt he will get many more chances.

The more I keep reading Isaiah Stanback's name, the more I think of a Stevie Nicks' classic.

I have never seen a player get injured so much but like someone else said he could be the next Jimmy Smith. I say give him 1 more training camp. After that, let's move on.

A meniscus tear isn't bad. He should be ready in about 4 weeks.

He is officially done now. Be ready by training camp? Yeah right and so what if he is. He will have missed all the OTA's and Ogletree and Johnson will probably be ahead of him by then. I put the chances of the team signing a vet WR or trading for one before camp opens at about 95%. I liked Stanback from the beginning but I'm officially done expecting him to ever amount to anything. Cut him loose and let him go to Miami with all the others scrubs we no longer had a use for.

Nah. It was my weak joke playing on his last name of Stanback (i.e. Stevie Nicks' Stand Back). :)

I know... Was just playing. He won't be ready by training camp.. He'll come back too quick and injure something else..

Does it matter? He cannot stay healthy at all. Meniscus now, whats next?

Give his spot to someone who can stay healthy. Being injured all the time does nothing. He might be one of the only players on the roster with less value than Carpenter and its all because he cannot stay healthy.

Isiah Stanback played QB in college. He is NOT used to getting hit. For a man of his stature he gets hurt WAY TOO EASY. Jerry needs to show some maturity (even 20 years later) and let go of pet projects. Jerry is like Al Davis in a sense that he is a speed/size guy. Which is why he kept Courtney Brown instead of Evan Oglesby....because of Browns measurables.

Isiah Stanbacks body (joints and ligaments) is not used to starting and stopping. Getting in and out of cuts...he is not used to breaking his body down before he gets hit to lessen the blow. Would it be that hard to DRAFT a freaking WR...instead of trying to convert a guy from a college position that minimized contact....to a pro position where contact is expected on an every down basis?

What's it going to be then, eh?

It is one thing to be a project. It is another to be a project who can't learn his new position because he can't stay healthy long enough to do it.

Isaiah Stanback, you might be playing in the NFL for somebody, but it will NOT be with the Dallas Cowboys.

Healthy or not, he's hardly given even the slightest indication that he can actually play.

Just another draft pick carelessly flushed down the toilet.

I doubt it.

Jimmy Smith actually demonstrated he had a position. All Stanback has shown is that he's an impressive athlete who can't stay healthy long enough to learn anything.
