Have you read some of the comments on this board?

People love the crow on here. Its so good people go out of there way to eat it.

Its always the House Special on the menu.

Anything can taste good with enough of the right barbecue sauce on it.

Dallas traded Fasano without knowing for sure that they would be able to land Bennett. I don't see it as a Bennett for Fasno deal. Fasano was let go because he was not doing anything for the offense. If Dallas doesn't draft Bennett, they still felt they were in good enough shape without Fasano. Curtis wasn't expected to be better than Fasano. He is just expected to be just as good, which is not much. Bennett is the #3 tight end right now and should be better than the #3 guy last season, which was Curtis. The future looks potentially good at the tight end position and that doesn't even count Hannah who may end up contributing something to the team.

Wasnt Fasano traded because Curtis already passed him on the depth chart?

Wasnt Bennett a highly rated player? We didnt reach....we went with BPA route

We dont know the whole story on this kid....its like Hard Knocks comes out and now Bennett is the punching bag of the month.

Can we give this kid a break maybe....Is it unreasonable to maybe let him play 1 full season....maybe 2......the kid is young....like 21....you know how many young adults I see 21 years old act like this? Were we all mature and grown up at 21? Many of us were probally still living at home.

Im not excited on seeing how Bennett behaves.....but im not ready to throw him under the bus and proclaim him a bust already either.

This kid is a asset....he has loads of talent....and he isnt expected to come here and produce like a starter....

patience is the key.....lets see if the coaches can groom this kid......hopefully they can.....isnt this what the scouts and coaches thought? ....

yea, and we have so much info to base this on.

can we let the kid grow up a little and maybe play 1 NFL game before we send him swimming with the fishes?

i swear to god some people go apecaca if every bit of news isn't rosey or positive.

Have we not learned from Antonio Bryant? Guys with maturity problems in college tend to follow them whereever they go.

Just like they say with troubled players, if you are in trouble in college, your in trouble in the NFL. Just like Adam Jones, Chris Henry and Talib to name a few. Yes, Adam Jones is doing the right thing, now but...... he had to be suspended the whole season first.

Has Bennett been in the same kind of trouble like any of those guys you mentioned? I know his maturity has been questioned, but I don't recall him having any serious run ins or anything like that.

have we not learned 1 person being stupid doesn't mean all people are stupid?

we're individuals for a reason. give the kid time. if you want something over quickly, i suggest a nice sitcom, maybe football isn't for you.

...has never given me any reason as a Cowboys fan to doubt his abilities or his opinion.

From his rookie campaign when he played with a wired jaw to his ascension as one of the premier tight ends of the game I would trust his words more than any other expert on Martellus Bennett.

I wouldn't kick Bennett out the door, but I wouldn't be kissing the ground he walks on either.

Witten is asking the kid to figure out if he can get on board before he goes and helps him out.

I'll take that lead and wait before I throw my apples in Bennett's cart.

He hasn't had any yet, but I am afraid this guy is a disciplinary problem waiting to happen. I am afraid of a dirty drug test, late for meetings, not knowing his assignments, et. al.

He has the skills and has shown some flashes of what he could be, but he is the kind of guy that is going to do what he wants despite what anyone says. When your coach is the OC's brother, who is soon to be the head coach, you have to kinda pay attention. This kid either doesn't understand where he sits in this organization, or doesn't care. Either way, I am expecting he gets himself in trouble before it gets any better.

Lot's of guys came into the league being one of the top college players, only to find they weren't made for the professional game.

If hard knocks wasn't on TV everyone here would be talking about what a great pick he was.

bennett seems like a kid with a lot of talent for the game but only very little appreciation for the game -- or at least what it takes to be a star in the game, long-term. i don't doubt that he has the ability to make this offense special, with two dangerous tight ends, but i do worry about him needing an injury or something to realize that this thing can end in the blink of an eye...

also, while everyone is busy comparing bennett to witten, i'd like to bring up terrell owens. now, TO self promotes with the best of 'em. BUT he comes to practice, and to play, EVERY play. you put up with a guy like that because you know he's giving everything he has on the field. of course, it doesn't hurt that he also backs up his mouth with big plays all season long. if you're behind arguably the best tight end in the league, you're not going to have as many chances to make people look past your "that's just the way i do things" routine.

i'm not rooting against this kid. i hope he really turns it on and makes this offense that much more explosive. but in the long-term interests of the team, i hope he develops some discipline and a more positive attitude. because, just as witten's atitude and TO's attitude and tank johnson's attitude and zach thomas's attitude can rub off, so can bennett's attitude.

That's very true, stealth. However, since we do know his attitude, it's legitimate to criticize it.

I'm with the crowd that's saying wait and see if he matures. He can certainly help us on the field and that's the main thing I'm concerned about.

I am a pretty nice guy, but you could edit things I say throughout the day into a clip that would make me look like hitler. Its a TV show. It's their job to start drama whether it is real or not.

Getting Bennett looks more and more like a major mistake. Take away his athlethism and all you are left with is a big over-grown baby.

Getting rid of Fasano was a mistake.
Getting rid of Fasano was an easy decision when you consider Curtis was going to move in front of him anyway.
I think it's funny how fans are suddenly better talent evaluators then the coach or assitant coaches...especially when it comes to players who they have coached for a couple of years.
If the Dolphins love Fasano so much then they can have him.
I like what we got here with Witten,Curtis and Bennett.

I can picture him fumbling in a big game for us. This guy seems too high maintanence. Anyone see Fasano catch a TD in preseason?

He did drop a TD pass in the playoffs against the Giants last year, though - obviously not as significant as a preseason TD for the worst team in football.

I like Witten and Curtis. Both work and play hard, seem to have great attitudes, and will do what it takes to help the team.

Bennett on the other hand acts like a spoiled kid. Too bad he has a 5 year old head on a NFL body. I would keep this guy under my thumb and if things don't get better after a year (or sooner), cut him.
