that would be fine except... well... the part where Romo has made the playoffs in 2 out of his 3 seasons as a starter(while Cutler has zero appearances) being correct and the fact romo tosses less picks than cutler with more TDs.

so if Romo is King of bad INTs then Cutler is what Gawd?

I would trade Romo for Cutler JT. I don't know how good Cutler would be but I know he would be better if the team around him were better. I really like that kid.

Everytime I've seen Cutler, even in the two preseason games against Dallas, he's impressed.

In a physically demanding game, Cutler has more tools to do better and for longer than Romo.

And last I checked, Cutler is much better at spreading the ball around and going through his progressions than Romo has shown.

Tony tends to have two options when he drops back to pass and only considers a third if he is in his crazy frenzied scramble mode.

Blame that on Garrett.

Our offense is based on looking downfield then checking it down to Witten or Barber.

We don't run very many quick plays to our receivers.

Plus if we didn't have Romo we wouldn't even be able to run that type of Offense because he buys time better than any QB in the game.

I wouldn't risk putting any QB behind this Oline that hasn't shown they can buy extra time.

Not without his insulin.

I wouldn't trade for Cutler just because he is a diabetic. There is no need to debate it past that.

You have a talented, young QB with no health issues (Romo).

Or you have a up and coming QB with health issues.

i dont have that much faith in Romo but Cutler is hardly someone i would trade for him. He has many of the same problems Romo has as far as forcing the ball into places it shouldnt go and the way he has handled this whole situation with the front office has showed how poor a leader he is and how much of a baby he is. Everyone knows the NFL is first a business and everything else a distant second! Or well at least i think Cutler is just finding that out...

I watched first down this morning and good ol' Skipper said he'd trade Romo for Cutler in a second. He mentioned how Cut was 2 inches taller, stronger, younger and a better decision maker. This WAS Skip, though! The woman commentator said Romo would benefit from the deal because it would take Tony out of the limelight and give him a fresh start.
I say stick w Tony. He'll step up this season for sure.

Skip also said that Cutler was "mentally tougher" than Romo. The same Cutler who is crying about being mentioned in a trade is now mentally tough?

:lmao2:

Cutler's not ready for big D.

So because one "journalist" in Denver has this fantasy speculation "what if Denver traded Cutler to Dallas for Romo" the story gets legs and off it goes...

though credit to JJT that he did say "many of you," refering to fans... fans speculate, that's ok. But when journalists do it and it gets treated as fact by others, ...that can just make things messy in lockerrooms.

Does downfield simply mean one side of the field or one receiver?...Because, it was always one receiver and then boom Barber or Witten...Since when does an offense have only two options in passing situations?...The rest are simply decoys?

So if I understand this correctly, if the play is to go to TO then Roy is simply running a decoy route?...Or vice versa?...Hardly sounds like a 21st century pass offense.

While Tony is an adept scrambler, Cutler is also an athlete with escapability, as well...Any doubts about that, one would only have to look at the game they played in preseason...He did a nice job of escaping pressure...And in the end, you want a scrambler for a QB or one with a helluva an arm and ability to get it to all his reads?

May be a surprise to you but there are a lot of athletes in professional sports using Insulin, you'd be hard pressed to find one case of where it kept them from being able to do their work let alone even be an issue

Tony has never had a problem going quickly through his progressions, it was his bread and butter for a season and a half before he spent this year running for his life and trying to appease an annoying WR. I have no idea where you are coming up with this one or two read stuff.

Here's a link to a draft insiders scouting report on him

Over his career, he made nice strides in all areas of play, especially decision making. He goes through his progressions well with the quick decision making to deliver the ball to the right receiver at the right time. He has the complete makeup of an NFL starting QB - athletic, sound arm with the ability to make quick smart decisions consistently

http://www.draftinsiders.com/node/94

There are legitimate criticsm's of Tony Romo - an inability to go through complicated progressions and make good reads is not one of them. No need to make stuff up based on one abberation of a season.

Agreed, if well managed its largely a non-issue.

"Does downfield simply mean one side of the field or one receiver?...Because, it was always one receiver and then boom Barber or Witten...Since when does an offense have only two options in passing situations?...The rest are simply decoys?"Quick release and quick progressions have always been Romo's bread and butter, but most people forgot it in the context of this year and it smacks at the stupidity of Jason Garrett, who had his QB looking dowenifled all the time. Hell, the OC had him in five-0step drops all the time, cleraly signalling long routes. We very rarely went 3 step-drops. You can't go through your progressions when all your progressions are deep down field. By the time you get through your first progression, the pressure is already there. Once pressure comes, not only does your QB have to scramble, your WRs have to break off their routes and try and get open. The idea that it was to appease Owens is about as stupid as anyone can say. If this offense was trying to appease Owens, Garrett would have listened to his advice, including using him in motion and quick slants. The fact is, Garrett didn't which means they weren't appeasing Owens at all. Garrett was doing his own thing.

Josh McDaniels denies he made calls to Tampa to try to move Cutler. Cutler's sources tell him otherwise. It would appear the young, new head coach of the Broncos blew this one, he initiated a trade but couldn't complete one. Now he has a pissed off QB and no plan B. Cutler's overreacting but he has a point. It appears his HC tried to move him and now he's lying about it.

As to the question- who's better Romo or Cutler? I'd give Cutler an edge because he has a much better arm, maybe the best in the league. Enough to take on a trade with large cap implications? Probably not but to say this is a no brainer, no way is a stretch. IMO Bill Parcells did a better overall job of assembling a team than Mike Shanahan did. There's no way to know but my guess is we would have gone a bit further with Cutler than Romo in the past 3 years.
