Not trying to be one of those guys but by mid summer I usually can get the rim with the same level that his forearm is at. But I have to take about 8 steps before jumping and I'm not trying to time a block shot

If Bennett was near the free-throw line or in the middle of the key when he jumped, the camera angle would make it look like he's well above the rim. He obviously has a good vertical, but I think it's exaggerated in the photo.

Ummm his elbow is at the rim..there's no optical illusion there. Martellus is probably 8"10 with his arms straight up..looks like he's at least 2 feet off the ground..the rim is 10 feet. Do the math.

The defender's feet are in the paint, and well behind the free throw line. So the shooter is not anywhere near the 3 point line.
