Cornerback Mike Jenkins is getting banged up making hits. He injured his elbow against Green Bay and his head against Washington.

Coach Wade Phillips wants to keep Jenkins grounded.

``Part of it is he just needs to run up on them and tackle them instead of diving,'' Phillips said. ``He's fast enough to run up on a guy rather than taking a shot at diving at them. He does that a lot of times but we're working with him on that. He needs to run up on them and tackle them. He doesn't need to leave his feet.''

He needs to work with the whole team on their tackling, especially the DBs.

He's banged himself up the last two games but at least he gives 100%. I can't say that about other players who like to run lazy routes, not learn the playbook and then drop balls and laugh about it.

Jenkins is a player, I love this kid's passion for the game... I think he needs to just make the tackle and not worry so much about the big hit although you kinda like your CB aggressive like that. I think Jenkins will learn when and not to take the "kill shots".

No fan does. He disgraces the wr position. Not listening to Irvin? What? He's lucky Irvin hasn't kicked his *** for the gay bow and arrow and index finger celebrations. If I was Irvin he would be banned from any of those. If he did it again I would slap him, which would knock him out for 3 hours.

I learned early on, a Sophomore starting at linebacker, that when you leave your feet all a runner has to do is withstand the hit, and then he continues down the field. Bitsy Garcia, playing for Alice, ended up with a touchdown after I had a ten yard run to him coming out of a cluster...and landed squarely in his chest, then on the ground as he continued for a TD. I agree, delivering the strike while still maintaining the foundation and ground contact, gives more strength and sustainable strength after the concussion.
