This is getting ridiculous. No way is Romo as good as Flutie. No way!
I bet in your feeble mind, you think Campbell is better than Romo, right?

I'll never forget the music city miracle.

Flutie didn't play in that game. That was Rob Johnson. Wade benched Flutie.

Let's hope Wade doesn't bench Romo and put it Brad Johnson...lol

I disagree. Not really a Flutie fan, but he did have a pretty decent arm. I don't think he was near as accurate as Romo though.

Nah, I saw him with Pats and later with Bills. Anything more than a 10-15 yard route he was limited and not very accurate. Don't get me wrong he was a winner. I'll never forget the game he won versus Pats and was hooked for Rob Johnson going into playoffs.

Probably the worst arm/throwing I've ever seen from a NFL QB ever...... He was beyond awful first half - Won a low scoring game. He made things happen with his legs a lot like Romo in second half, Albeit 4-5 inches shorter and without Romo's arm zip and accuracy.

Agreed. Arm Strength was never a problem with Flutie. Anyone that says otherwise has no idea what they're talking about.

You're just mad because your QB has more INTs than TDs. Now, say goodbye. :lmao2:

I think Marion Barber has more TD's than the entire Commanders offense :lmao:

Are Commander fans still delusional enough to try to tell someone that Romo isn't a good QB? Not as good as Flutie? Wow.

What major games of consequence has Romo won? Flutie has won many. Who was the higher draft pick? Who won the Heisman?

There is no comparison.

That's pretty freakin' dumb, even for a deadskin fan. What does his draft status and what he did in college have to do with ANYTHING?

What you did in college might have an effect of HOW you get INTO the NFL, but it has NOTHING to do with what you do/did in the NFL.

Slap yourself in the face with a cow prod for that dumb statement.

Flutey had no arm, not like Romo's for sure.
He played with grit and determination and forged a 20 year career as a marginal starter, backup

man, did you really watch him at all? Flutie had a VERY good arm. You could point out the other stuff like his size disadvantage and his inaccuracy... But his arm strength? That wasn't a weakness of Flutie...

At least not until he gets his own cereal.

What do you think? Romo Crispies? Romo Cocoa Puffs?

Because of his heritage his own high end pasta sauce would be better. How could you resist a commercial lead in or closing statement such as "Romo sono buono".

Doesn't it seem fishy to you that all of a sudden Romo goes from undrafted unknown to throwing 300 yards and 3 TDs a game?

You ever see Flutie play in person? He had very limited arm strength and made a living of throwing off the run and short. His arm was sub standard for a NFL QB. Hence why he played all those years in Canada and mostly as a backup in the NFL.

How you guys can compare one of the greatest comeback QBs ever who played 20 years in the NFL to a guy who hasn't even finished a full season of games is beyond me.

I have to agree with HogsofLegends here. Flutie was benched in favor of a better quarterback, a championship quarterback in fact.

R. Johnson > Flutie > Romo > J. Campbell > C. Carlson

Comeback QB's? Come again?

Flutie at best started for 4 seasons in NFL and was benched at all 4 stops eventually.

Romo in less than 1 season has following stats

292-458-4102 and a 63.8% and 30TD's

Doug Flutie CAREER

1177-2151-14,715 and a 54.7% and 86TD's

Other than moxie and running style there is no compaison here. Romo is ranking with thye greats and Flutie was a vagabond backup QB with limited arm and NFL size. Sans the catch he threw to Gerard Phelan, this thread would not exist in 2007.

Hogs, if there's one thing I know, it's about the NFL League.

I've been watching this kid Romo ever since I was preparing for the Thanksgiving game last season. He's played in several games of consequence. One being the TB game on Thanksgiving in front of millions, another being against the Indianapolis Colts where he came out victorious.

The ladder games of the season saw a major void in the Cowboys defense. Most of the time, Cowboys fans correct me if I"m wrong, but Romo was forced to come from behind many times against Detroit, Philly, N.O., Seattle, etc. I feel as though the defense let the team down during those losses later in the season.

Sure, Romo had some bad decisions, but I saw something developing in this kid...and now hold on to your horses. I hope we continue to get the same type of excitement out of Garcia.
