DMN Blog: Romo's a bigger, better Flutie

I have to agree with HogsofLegends here. Flutie was benched in favor of a better quarterback, a championship quarterback in fact.

R. Johnson > Flutie > Romo > J. Campbell > C. Carlson

The decision to bench Flutie for Johnson was asinine and it lead to the Bills demise.

An undrafted QB just doesn't have the stats that Romo has unless something suspect is happening.

I agree with that,

Comeback QB's? Come again?

Flutie at best started for 4 seasons in NFL and was benched at all 4 stops eventually.

Romo in less than 1 season has following stats

292-458-4102 and a 63.8% and 30TD's

Doug Flutie CAREER

1177-2151-14,715 and a 54.7% and 86TD's

Other than moxie and running style there is no compaison here. Romo is ranking with thye greats and Flutie was a vagabond backup QB with limited arm and NFL size. Sans the catch he threw to Gerard Phelan, this thread would not exist in 2007.

I saw Flutie play live in Canada and NE a few times. His arm strength is underated by you Nors. How long was the famous pass to Phalen for the NCCA championship ?

Its too bad he was discrimated against due to his height, he was a winner.

By the way, he is the runt in his family, I work in small startup company with his brother Bill Flutie, who is at least 6'2".

Care to elaborate on exactly what "suspect" means?

Did Romo get caught with Tagliabue's daughter and therefore was banned from the draft?

Did Jerry Jones pay off the entire league in order for them not to draft Romo?

Is Romo an alien sent to earth to rule the world? Did these aliens lure Romo to Eastern Illinois University to keep him out of the limelight...now phase two begins where he leads "America's Team"?

Don't fratenize me. You said it was something "suspect" going on. I'd like to know what you meant by that, if you don't mind. Be cantid.

I think something was done surreptitiously to keep Romo in Dallas and get him to Dallas without the knowledge of other NFL teams. How can someone be that good and not be drafted? Come on.

You wouldn't be by chance Tr1 on extremeskins.com would you? You sure posts like him, all drivel and isn't able to digest facts and reality.

Mike Shanahan was very interested in Romo. In fact, Romo had to choose between Dallas and Denver.

This thread is pure gold. PURE *****' GOLD!

I agree!!!

This thread is surreptitiously awesome! The ladder posts in particular are very cantid! :D

You ever see Flutie play in person? He had very limited arm strength and made a living of throwing off the run and short. His arm was sub standard for a NFL QB. Hence why he played all those years in Canada and mostly as a backup in the NFL.

Yet again you show how little you know about the actual game of football (or at least Flutie specifically).

Tony Romo > Doug Flutie + Jason Campbell

Jason Campbell = Quincy Carter

that's unfair! as far as we know, jason campbell does not have a drug problem.

:lmao2:

I admit it, this comparison is one I can legitimately see with regards to the elusiveness and passion for the game.

Curious.. what are your thoughts on Romo up until this point?

Are you a believer?

HogsRLegends;1689134 said:
Doesn't it seem fishy to you that all of a sudden Romo goes from undrafted unknown to throwing 300 yards and 3 TDs a game?

Not at all. I've been writing, tirelessly about Romo, to the point of being annoying for about 3-4 years....

:D

What can be said about such stupidity ......

You realize Romo is of Mexican Descent?

You realize that he is actually half mexican and half italian. Ok you want to throw in a jalepeno or two into that sauce. I'll be good with that. Now where was I...Romo sono buono....

:D

You don't go from undrafted reject to 300 yards and 3 TDs a game in the NFL without cheating somehow. Period.
