Are you seriously comparing a guy who's facing a possible career ending injury and who is opting to postpone a surgical procedure that could affect his longterm health for the rest of his life for one last chance to play football ......with .... a guy who's not attending the team workouts because he'd rather go on a "family vacation" (just a few weeks before the entire organization breaks for pre-training camp vacations)?

dude - go blindly bash and don't worry about what i say, ok? it's more than painfully obvious some people hate roy so much common sense and logic need not apply to the discussions.

1. when roy made his plans, OTAs were not scheduled.
2. it's a "family" vacation. to expect roy's entire family to move also is NOT reasonable, but roy bashing has never been about reasonable.
3. he's busted his tail for months to get into shape. he's in early, he leaves late. all that is blown by the wayside by the blind bashing.

just about had enough and maybe i need a vacation from stupidity.

Wow, this is news to me. I think a lot of us in the real world have to plan our family vacations around our work schedules.

I don't hate Roy and I don't think it is a lack of common sense to expect our players to be at these OTA, the other guys manage to be there. You mentioned Glenn and while he is not going through the workout he is there doing some rehab work. Barber got back as soon as his contract was done.

i'm sure he's gonna gain some of it back while on vacation:laugh2:. but seriously I think he should be there talking to the coaches about the defense he says he's not sure if he fits in. Or in the film room trying to find ways to take different angles so he doesn't have to do a certain tackle from behind.

and all the times he comes in early and stays late this convo never comes up? how many times can he talk about it already? he missed (2) days but was there for how many?

do we know FOR SURE he didn't spend the last week 24x7 watching film? no i don't think he did either but my point is people are acting like if he doesn't do this 24x7 he's not doing jackwipecrap and that's just self-serving to the haters who won't let go of any bullet that falls their way.

Not at all I would say the same about any of the players who skipped out on the team work outs and have done so in the past with other players.

As for Roy losing weight and his work in the weight room yeah I give props for that but that does not change my feeling about this situation. Hamlin is not there and while I wish he was the fact he has not signed his deal is a legit reason not to be there.

If a player is nursing an injury I would not expect him to participate in the work out but because you want to take a vacation yes I'm sorry I don't see that as a great excuse.

Why couldn't Roy change his vacation when he saw the OTA schedule? You can bet that they didn't just spring these dates on the players a few days ago.

Roy's surely footing the bill for this vacation... He could've moved it and whoever he's taking would've understood.

Yes, Roy bashing is overdone by some, but that doesn't mean all of the criticism is unwarranted. He's making millions... Why shouldn't his employer expect him to attend the few offseason functions the team holds?

and 2 days of walk throughs will certainly help roy.

Roy is a professional they do know the approximate time frame of these work outs. I'm not a player but I knew these workouts were coming up. The exact date no but I did know that come May these guys will be going through these workouts and Roy knew that too.

Jenkins made a spectacular interception on a deep ball to Isaiah Stanback minutes earlier, forcing Stanback to the sideline and leaping to catch the ball at its highest point.

I thought Stanback had speed to burn...

You do not have to be cat quick to burn someone on a route. Crayton is one of the best route runners on the team.
