iceberg, you've gotta be freakin' kidding me.

Roy is entering his 7th year. You don't think he KNEW OTAs were coming up!?

Maybe you're right and he didn't know the EXACT dates, but there is no way he didn't know they'd be sometime in mid-late May.

I'm sure if he asked Jerry, Jerry could've given him a much more specific time-table well in advance. I'm just a fan and even I knew that OTAs are something like a month after the draft.

He should've made his vacation plans with tentative dates, which could change depending on the OTA schedule. And like someone said, it's not like the OTA schedule was sprung on him a couple days ago. He had ample time to shift his vacation around his work schedule, the way people in the "real world" often do.

And if the rest of his family couldn't be flexible for whatever reason? Then, "So long, family, you guys have fun without me. I have to work that week." And he could've still funded their trip from afar.

I agree that the Roy bashing does go overboard at times. He is far from the worst starting safety in football.

But for a highly-paid player, who is coming off of a pretty bad year, to miss OTAs for something that's not injury or contract related... well, that does show a lack of dedication. Every other vet besides Hamlin and Glenn attended, and Hamlin/Glenn have much more legit reasons for this than Roy does.

You do not have to be cat quick to burn someone on a route. Crayton is one of the best route runners on the team.

I don't know if that says much considering who we've got right now.

Honestly, that's probably more of a negative statement on Jenkins than a positive for Crayton. And as for the INT, I'm not sure what he means by "forced" Stanback to the sideline. Might be a PI call.

Dbs use the sideline against WRs, they try to reroute them outside, instead of letting them have inside position

it's harder to place the ball along the sideline

It wouldn't surprise me if Terry Glenn didn't do much in OTA's, training camp, and practice throughout the week, so he will be fresh and healthy for gamedays. He probably wouldn't be the first player to do this. At this point, is it really vital that Terry practice a lot? He's experience and he knows what's going on. The drawback is no time to develop chemistry with Romo. If Eli and Plaxico can pull it off, then sure these two could. Who knows if this will really happen, but don't be surprised if it does.

this team is going to win it allllllll

No, Crazy. Haven't you been reading all these posts? This team can never get anywhere because Roy Williams is not at the first two OTAs.

From the tenor of the posts you should know that the experts we have on the board have already thrown the season under the bus because Roy Williams is on the team and Crayton was not a first round pick. Worse than that, somebody said a good word for Spears, which can never be forgiven.

We'll just have to wait until next year.

:(

Maybe his family, most of whom likely live and work in the "real world," scheduled a family reunion around the times they could get off from work. Maybe Roy, the multimillionaire, decided it would be better to *ask permission* to skip *voluntary* workouts than to ask his family of "real world" folks to totally rearrange their schedules so he could run around in shorts for workouts that he wasn't obligated to attend.

You know, something like, "I'd really like to attend the reunion, coach - grandma might not make it much longer - but I'll skip it if you want me at the OTA's."

Or maybe his mistake was not coming to this message board to ask for permission.

I should have known a rookie CB report was going to turn into a Roy Williams discussion.

In regards to Glenn, I have zero expectations of him. I would love for him to be back contributing, but this is beginning to be a broken record. No time table for return; coaches are optimistic he will return at some point... we have heard this before.

You can re-route the WR off the line, causing the receiver to try and re-adjust to the "called" pattern. The ball being thrown a bit off target could have possibly allowed Jenkins to get position as well, forcing Stanback to the sideline.

Many factors can occur before considering it to be pass interference.

Just sounds like a good play by our 1st round CB.
