stanback needs to take the same leap that austin did last year to stay on the team.

Stanback has to show something this year or he is gone= also if he keeps getting dinged up and not able to play he is gone. That problem with his shoulder could be a career killer.

I really think Hurd is NFL ready if he can stay healthy. If he show what he did before the injury I think he is safe. As for Stan., I feel he is a project that has not been successful. I know he have dealt with injuries, but unseccessful. The battle will be between Wilson ( which I have heard alot of people saying"Keep an eye on him"), Scan., and Olgetree. If Olgetree demonstrate the quality player that he was in college and was projected before the injury then I believe he has a great shot.

BTW, do you think that they may consider carrying 6 WR?

We'll find out about Stanback.

He may be this year's Miles Austin.

Then again...he may not.

He still has this year to prove it. Again, three years.....

I agree with you on Hurd and who the final WR spot may come down to. I believe Wilson may actually be the player in the end to emerge there.

I don't see any way we keep 6 WRs this year.

Per cowboys scout day one practice,
Talked about the flexibility of fullback Asaph Schwapp at 5-11 251 showing good flexibility with some limberness to him. When a stephen McGee pass sailed over him while the fullback was drifting out to the flat on a screen play, asaph jumped up while twisting around and reaching behind his head to haul in the pass.

Jason Garrett screamed at some of the rookies and told them to pick up the tempo at a faster pace which they did with good intensity into the afternoon workout session.

Catch of the day came from Virginia wr Kevin Ogletree listed at 6 foot weighing about 196, dropped a couple of passes but had a big catch of the day while racing down the left sideline, with the pass sailing behind him some, ogle tree behind while turning around reaching back to haul in the pass with just his right hand while almost falling out of bounds near the sidelines but keeping both feet in bounds

Garrett had to get on McGee again, and he picked up the pace with dropping back into his sets quickly with his feet and clearly showing the ability to throw on the run, but alas like Hostile mentioned Rudy Carpenter didn’t fair well at all, rudy showed some choppy footwork but rudy does have a stronger arm. Like on deep throws rudys passes shot right through the wind but McGee passes fluttered somewhat alittle longer on longer throws.

Buehler hit carpenter when he chased him, or so called hit, guess you could call it kinda a tag, but buehler showed some ability.

Jason Williams and Stephen hodge showed good speed and coverage skills, while both ran well and covered backs extremely well somewhat. Willliams showed an extra burst on screen plays almost picking off a couple of passes as well as hodge in afternoon session.. While hodge is extremely fluid in coverage while coming out of his breaks cleanly when the receiver breaks for the ball too, while hodge shows a nose for the ball too, like stripping the ball from Hannah on a pass and heading back up field while drawing howls of approval from his teammates and campo.

Buehler said the team talked about using him on other non kicking roles, while considering using him to cover on punts and finding another role for him on other return special teams roles.

Bennett came by to watch a practice of the morning session, while Michael Irvin went onto the field to talk to olgetree whom failed to make a one handed catch of a pass. Talking a few minutes ogle tree got back into the passing routes and talked to Michael again, while Michael showed him some footwork technique and hand placement. I remember one pass play, Michael tried to catch a pass in a jimmy Johnson camp and jimmy told Irvin don’t try to be too cute, use both hands, and catch the ball right, im sure that Irvin told him some of the same things while underscoring the need for concentration, then Irvin talked to the other wrs.

that’s basically it, I think some of this was covered in another post, but if some of it was left out, I posted this, hope ok.

Strange. That's exactly opposite what that opening post says.

Hannah could create problems for Cricket or vice versa. They can't keep two kickers and a 3rd QB and not go short somewhere else.
