What's my agenda, man?

Apparently, it's your belief that on the play in question, Romo would not have thrown the ball to Roy... never mind that he has done so repeatedly down on the goal line this season:

Sheldon Brown is just not a smart football player then. The postgame show was making fun of that play. They basically said, "How funny was it when Sheldon Brown actually thought Romo was going to throw the ball to Roy Williams?" Romo made a pre-snap read, and he knew he was going to Crayton from the very start. So I guess good job Roy?

Inasmuch as I doubt that Romo confided his thought processes to you, this is you making an ASSUMPTION, that Tony wasn't about to throw the ball Roy's way... again, never mind that Tony has gone to Roy down in close on a number of occasions this year...

That's what I call an "agenda"... man... basically, you've turned Roy into one of your Designated Scapegoats, a convenient whipping boy for whatever ails the team... which is funny, since there's not really much ailing the team these days...

IOW, rather than calmly and rationally trying to figure out what the problem is with Roy, you'd rather just snarl about him... some in here HAVE tried to figure out what that problem is, and the general consensus is that he's just let the media get inside his head, and is now pressing... this has led to drops that are most uncharacteristic of him, which has naturally led to Tony not looking for him first...

At least, that's the only reason I can figure out why a still-young receiver who has been highly productive in his career is now about half as productive as he was... so, do you have any other read on what the source of the problem might be, or are you just content to snarl about it??

I was smiling ear to ear reading that.

Makes you kinda root for the guy

Yea, I have been one of Roy's harshest critics, but I want the guy to suceed for no other reason than it helps the team win.

If he would just make an acrobatic catch or something in the playoffs, I think alot of people are willing to give him another chance. Now if he drops a wide open TD and we lose the game because of it, the dude better pack his bags and go back to Detroit.

I have been turned off since he made those comments about not be able to work out with T.O because it's too difficult an off-season routine for him. Just get the sense he just doesn't take his job seriously enough and as a result he is simply unable to improve upon his obvious physical gifts.

Hope I am wrong...he seems like a decent guy and hasn't been a distraction for the most part.

You are missing my main point, man. Pre-snap look, Romo SAW the safety stay in the middle of the endzone, so he immediately knew that it was going to be a positive play depending on what Sheldon Brown did. The safety BLEW COVERAGE, it had nothing to do with Roy or Crayton. Brown was responsible for his zone, but if for some reason Brown did NOT go for the pump fake, he may have been able to make a play on Crayton. However, Brown was in no position to make a play on Roy OR Crayton because the safety never got over.

They analyzed the play on NFL Network and with the post-game show. Crayton was interviewed by Brad Sham; basically what Patrick said was while on the sidelines, he asked Garrett to call that specific play and said that he would just run right by the CB, hoping the safety wouldn't move over, and that's exactly what happened.

There is no "agenda" towards Roy. Actually, I didn't make one derogatory comment about Roy in this entire post. I'm just stating that he doesn't deserve any special credit for the specific play. If the safety DOES move over pre-snap, Romo most likely checks the ball down to Roy and who knows what happens.

What "problem" of Roy was I speaking of? We all know he isn't playing well right now, and I hope he pulls a Larry Fitzgerald and helps get this team a ring. We ALL want that, we ALL want Roy to succeed. When he gets his limited opportunities and makes a play, we STILL cheer Roy because he's a Cowboy and he can help the team.
