The forgotten Cowboys wide receiver was on Sirius XM radio this morning.
The question: "You've got to be thrilled for you team but you're a human being that wants to compete, wants to contribute. When you were leaving the stadium Sunday, were you conflicted at all or did you just say, 'Listen, it can't be about me. It's got to be about us?'"
Williams' answer: "Someone asked me a couple of weeks ago, 'What's my favorite season of all time?' And I said, 'It's this one.' The reason being is because I've always been the man from Pop Warner to the NFL.
"And this year, I've always said, 'God, just give me a chance. Take all my balls and my yards away and just, you know, get me to a Super Bowl.' And for some reason this year things have just gone south for me. And I'm a guy that works my butt off all offseason...But we're in the playoffs and we have a chance to go to the Super Bowl that I've been begging for. So I'll trade in all my individual stats and everything just to be in the playoffs. I could still be in Detroit and be 2-14 and I would just probably now be landing in Texas as we speak."
Williams on Miles Austin:
"Miles is a guy that when I first got here I said, 'Oh, you know, he's fast. He's fast, he's pretty good.' He [was] inconsistent with his hands as far as when I first got here, last year in training camp. And then all of a sudden I go down with the rib [injury] and he gets his chance to show what he can do and the guy got 250 yards in the game. And from that point on he just kind of rode with that momentum and he's become one of the best wide receivers in the game. And I don't want anybody - somebody told me that Troy Aikman said I was jealous of Miles because he made it to the Pro Bowl and I didn't. I could care less about who makes it to the Pro Bowl or who does what. I know talent when I see it. Miles is an extreme talent, don't know where we would be without him, big-time playmaker. I'm more happy for him than anybody else on this football team."
Williams on Tony Romo:
"I had a short slant against the Saints and I dropped it. It was a contested catch. Then I had one in Washington [when] I'm trying to run without the ball. You're never going to catch those. So his confidence left me and I think the offensive coordinator's confidence left me as well. So my thing was last week just gain the confidence of both of those guys. But Romo's had a heck of a run this December. I know everybody's talked about him in December. He's only thrown two picks. One was off the top of my head and the other one was last Sunday, you know, a fluke deal where the ball just popped up and somebody caught it. So in my eyes had hasn't had any interceptions but he's just played tremendously well."
