I did not listen to the interview so I was only going off what was posted. So Key believes he is the best #1 overall since the 1996 draft?

As of three years ago he did. He basically stated no one had been better than him since his draft.

He wasn't even the best player in his draft let alone the top number one pick over the past decade. He builds a false pardigm, a easy straw man to refute.

I would argue that Orlando Pace and Peyton Manning were the better number one picks since he was drafted.

"I do believe he didn't cater to Terrell Owens and go out of his way to get him involved when teams were double and tripple teaming him like this coaching staff seems to do".

?????

How do you know they do that? I sure did not see that Sunday when he was tripled teamed the whole game!

By the way if that was true...... let's see, a happy T.O. is one of the best WR's in the game and a mad T.O. is a distraction. So you keep him focused. That would be called managing your people and is a great coaching treat.

I say keep him happy and it is a win win situation for us.

Ok. Correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't we sign TO, then let Key go with the thought that we would resign him but before we had the chance, he signed with Carolina? I seem to remember that Jerry told him he would do that but Key thought he was still a starter.

If that is correct then To is wrong because He wouldn't have taken Keys place, To would have taken Glenns place and Glenn took keys spot. Becuase Key has not been a #1 WR for a few years.

Key has been taking shots at TO all season. Everything TO said was accurate and I'm glade he fired back.

The problem is reporters keep asking him what the difference is between this year and last year, in how he is being utilized. Or what is the biggest difference in his role in this offense compared to last year? etc.....
Thank you. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. But, obviously, in some posters case, it does. This is a non debateable issue.

this is a great situation to get TO fired up, because unlike others when he gets fired up to prove others wrong he explodes on the field. plus, it's TO and the team vs the world, not TO vs the team with the eagles. only good things can happen, just like the patriots vs the world and their false sense of disrespect.

keyshawn has been ripping TO all year long. he kept talking about his drops, then talking about him destroying teams, going to blowup sometime, then he talked about TO going against al harris saying TO might be big but he doesn't like to get touched and can't handle the press. :laugh2:

too bad emmitt smith can't defend the cowboys with his lack of oratory skills. if irvin was still on he would've shredded keyshawn.

Either way he was bumped for TO and rightfully so. Glenn wasn't bumped and Key kept on. Whether the idea was to resign him or not, he wasn't important enough to protect and off he walked to Carolina.

I love what TO said and listening to it was even that much funnier. Keyshawns been nothing but a jerk in his tenure at ESPN and I'm glad TO put it to him like that. Key can't refute a thing TO said - with any measure of truth; but knowing him, he really thought he was great.

Albert Breer E-mail News tips

OK, so on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown this week, former Cowboys (and Jets and Bucs) WR Keyshawn Johnson said he feels like the Tuna deserves credit for building this team that's 12-1.

And that, added to what Key said earlier in the year, was enough to prompt Terrell Owens to let loose in the afternoon today. Man, some day for Tabloid Timmy to be stuck in a conference room, and locked away from Cowboys Blog.

"I’m probably the main reason he’s in the booth right now," Owens said, referencing the fact that his signing led to Johnson's Dallas ouster. "It’s uncharacteristic of him, but it doesn’t surprise me. For me, if he’s gonna be hater and throw me under the bus, (it’s) because he and Bill are real good friends. Nobody would even know he won the Super Bowl unless you checked the roster.

"My thing is, we came out the same year. He was a first-rounder, I was a third rounder. I’m still playing, he’s not. You compare our stats up until the time he retired, it’s a no-brainer. I’d challenge him to come out and try to make this team. He’d be a third or fourth receiver at this point. He can hate all he wants to. Compare the stats, they don’t lie.

"Here’s a guy, writes the book, ‘Give Me the Damn Ball,’ and he has 106 catches and one touchdown, and that was off a tipped pass. I’ll never do that in my career. He can hate all he wants to."

It seemed like this was pretty deep rooted. But T.O. did take time to respond to the assertion that this is still Team Tuna.

"It’s not a matter of me giving or not giving Bill credit," Owens said. "Everybody wants to make a big deal, that this is the team he built. It doesn’t matter. ... My thing is give credit to Wade (that's Phillips). The difference between Wade and Parcells is this: Parcells, he didn’t use me as a playmaker; Wade, he got the staff, and that’s what I’m being used as.

"Plain and simple, without trying to be negative or anything. I’m being used as a playmaker, and as I said, the proof is in the pudding."

Then, things swung right back to Key, and his willingness to toss a couple verbal stones. And the idea that Johnson is Parcells' mouthpiece.

"Those guys are probably talking about me, chopping it up, drinking coffee," Owens said. "They can have their little pity party and talk about me all day long. It doesn’t bother me. There’s a lot of people on the ESPN panel and across the country that has observed what has happened this year vs. last year. And there’s a lot of people that just don’t want to give credit for what Wade has does and what wasn’t done last year. That’s it. I’m not trying to be negative."

And now the clock starts ... I just can't wait for T-Mac to weigh on in.

EDIT:

Video (thanks djtavo) http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d8050c741

That is GOLDEN. Get em TO. those clowns think they can sit back behind the desks and throw stones. The jealousy is so obvious. Game faces = no.

I'm sick of this "Who deserves the credit?" non sense.

Bill Parcells put about 80% of the team together. But Wade still formed this roster through his personnel decisions after training camp.

Wade Phillips is the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

He's the one that gets to Valley Ranch at 4 am and stays till after dark. He's the one that runs this team's operations day in and out.

And he has this team at 12-1.

T.O. is right. Look at what Wade has done with pretty much the same team Bill had last year.

wow. I just watched the video. Stellar! Chop it up Key! :lmao: I like Key too but I thought he was waaay outta line this past weekend when he lit off into TO. I'm glad TO gave him a lil holla back. :D

"They're probably talking about me chopping it up drinking coffee right now."
- best part of the video hands down.

All this talk about teams that were built by one coach and then the new coach comes in and wins SB's...

Well I will tell ya.... THIS situation was different.

Jimmy built Cowboys and won 2 SB's - then Switzer almost got 2 himself.. ended up with one
Dungy built the Bucs and won playoffs games - then Gruden won SB

The difference: Parcells built this team and didnt even win 10 games in his last year and LOST the only playoff game(plus the one in his first year) = no success.... so its just different

T.O. vs. Keyshawn

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

Let me begin by thanking Albert "Einstein" Breer for stooping to my sensationalistic level while I was tied up with boring corporate stuff today. T.O. lashing out at Keyshawn Johnson is pure blog gold!!

T.O. suggested that somebody compare his stats to Keyshawn's, and I'm always willing to fan the flames when the Original 81 starts flapping his gums. Follow the jump for indisputable statistical evidence that hatin' Keyshawn couldn't hold T.O.'s jock with two hands.

CAREER STATS

T.O. -- 875 catches for 12,985 yards (14.8 ypc) and 128 TDs in 171 games

Keyshawn -- 814 catches for 10,571 (13.0 ypc) and 64 TDs in 167 games

PLAYOFF STATS

T.O. -- 50 catches for 702 yards and four TDs in 10 games

Keyshawn -- 39 catches for 569 yards and two TDs in seven games

STATS AS COWBOY

T.O. -- 159 catches for 2,450 yards and 27 TDs in 29 games

Keyshawn -- 141 catches for 1,820 yards and 12 TDs in 32 games
64 more TDs in just 4 more games... THAT is the difference between a decent player and an impact player

Not sure if it is somewhere in the thread... wouldn't be my 1st repost.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3152144&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines

I love how Key says he was trying to be an adult with TO...

Ummm... why call TO out on a National-televised TV show?

Maybe if Key wanted to be an "adult" and "warn" TO he should have done it behind closed doors.

Seeing how quickly Key can back pedal I wonder why he didn't play CB.

Yeah I call BS... he plays this nonsense... "if I had a vote they would all go to TO... he's playing out of his mind"

You hear him say it... but you feel the sarcasm/jealousy in the air.

I especially love how u can hear the co-anchors mocking keyshawn and laughing at him in the background telling him to "preach on" and the way emmitt looked at him when he was talking bout the Switzer SB win was absolutely priceless.

Didn't Keyshawn in an interview with Irvin, say that he was better than Irvin...

Michael had a big smile on his face and looked like he was about to bust out laughing...

I remember that interview. Key said Mike wouldn't be able to play for Parcells. Mike had a smirk on his face as if to say( you're kidding right ???) Priceless!!
