Well, he had Terry Glenn on the field as well and Bledsoe was the QB in some of those games.

I understand the argument that claims Parcells' offense wasn't conducive to Terrell Owens' skill set.

I just don't think that equates to Parcells not wanting to use him.
I agree with the bold part. It's not about not wanting to use him, it's just about the way last year's offense was constructed.

Glenn was a 1,000 yd receiver. Witten may very well get a 1,000 yards this year offsetting Glenn's absence. Crayton is picking up Witten's yards from last year. I think it's more than numbers. The offense, as a whole this year, is much more dynamic.

Oh I agree, no doubt the offense is much more aggressive and dynamic, even though it seems like Owens is not being placed in motion as much of late.

It would be very interesting to see how many times he was thrown too per game last year compared to this year.

I really wouldnt be surprised if the numbers are close.

I agree. Parcells did use TO. I thought there was a stat that TO was one of the most thrown to receivers in 2006. They just not use TO as effectively as they are this season. That is the difference.

Keyshawn was run out of town by everyone he ever played for, he is not a team player, he is an underachieving ego, I mean come on as the number one pick he has got to go down as a disappointment.

Terry Glenn was taken six picks after him and is a SUPERIOR talent, Eddie Kennison had better stats and touchdown ability than USC grad/ number one pick/ slow footed loud mouth Keyshawn "Throw Me the Damn Ball" Johnson.

I hated the trade with Tampa for him and still do, Joey Galloway would be great on the Cowboy roster and had been.

For crying out loud with the Jets undrafted Wayne Chrebet was the best receiver on the roster and not Johnson!

If he was so valuable why was he twice traded and twice cut?

I rest me case.

:hammer:

Hmm, thought I was alone on this argument.

I also remember that stat, they mentioned it during one of the games last year.

He also dropped alot of balls last year which altered his effectiveness.

SCUD missiles thrown AT T.O., and not TO T.O., in triple coverage by Drew Bledsoe don't count...

I have no problems whatsoever with T.O and his comments. I am glad he is sticking up for both his coach and himself....and I don't care about that turd Key or the former coach!!

Oh boy... Key is about to be on Galloway's show now.

And you know how Galloway hates T.O. and loves Key... So this'll be interesting.

The had Key on ESPN but I only caught the tail end of what he said about TO. Does anyone know what he fully said?

Coolies.

I was dreading the drive home with all this rain and storming.

Now I am looking forward to it.

I'm glad T.O. spoke his mind regarding KJ.

If KJ says anything back at T.O., (which I'm sure he will) I hope T.O. just lets it go now.

He has let his feelings be known, he made a lot of good, factual points on the subject, .. now just let KJ go bark at the moon all by himself.

T.O. doesn't need to say anything more.

Forget this and go destroy the Iggles T.O.

Keyshawn actually was okay on GAC... He claimed he was just trying to give T.O. some advice on how to handle things, because he'd never win if he took on an NFL icon like Parcells.

Said if T.O. won a Superbowl this year, he'd forever be linked to Parcells anyway. Compared it to him winning one with Gruden after Dungy built the team.

Later he got a little excited and said maybe T.O. couldn't understand that in adult terms, so he'd have to explain it to him in elementary terms. Also said he had nothing to defend about his career. For some reason, he said he was the #1 pick in 1996 and was still #1. (Whatever that means.)

Also kept calling T.O. "young man", which is kind of funny considering they were drafted the same year.

Ended by saying he was still rooting for the Cowboys.

I didn't see what Key said Sunday, so I don't know if it was in the spirit of giving advice or not. I've heard Key put down T.O. several times on the Friday night Primetime show, though.

Anyway... More drama.

He learned well from his master, Parcells.

That's a condescending term, the way he is using it.

At least he didn't call him "the player."

And that's probably why T.O. went off. He probably found it hypocritical and condescending of Key to be giving him advice about ANYTHING.

Some people you're willing accept advice from, but one who's been called a "team cancer" himself is probably not one of them.

Key is just sore because the Cowboys cut him to sign TO.

In his own mind Key probably thought he was the equivalent of TO in terms of skills.

It's got to be killing Key to watch TO have so much success.

End of the day, TO probably makes the HOF, Key is some TV analyst.

T.O. fires back at Keyshawn

Albert Breer E-mail News tips

OK, so on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown this week, former Cowboys (and Jets and Bucs) WR Keyshawn Johnson said he feels like the Tuna deserves credit for building this team that's 12-1.

And that, added to what Key said earlier in the year, was enough to prompt Terrell Owens to let loose in the afternoon today. Man, some day for Tabloid Timmy to be stuck in a conference room, and locked away from Cowboys Blog.

"I’m probably the main reason he’s in the booth right now," Owens said, referencing the fact that his signing led to Johnson's Dallas ouster. "It’s uncharacteristic of him, but it doesn’t surprise me. For me, if he’s gonna be hater and throw me under the bus, (it’s) because he and Bill are real good friends. Nobody would even know he won the Super Bowl unless you checked the roster.

"My thing is, we came out the same year. He was a first-rounder, I was a third rounder. I’m still playing, he’s not. You compare our stats up until the time he retired, it’s a no-brainer. I’d challenge him to come out and try to make this team. He’d be a third or fourth receiver at this point. He can hate all he wants to. Compare the stats, they don’t lie.

"Here’s a guy, writes the book, ‘Give Me the Damn Ball,’ and he has 106 catches and one touchdown, and that was off a tipped pass. I’ll never do that in my career. He can hate all he wants to."

It seemed like this was pretty deep rooted. But T.O. did take time to respond to the assertion that this is still Team Tuna.

"It’s not a matter of me giving or not giving Bill credit," Owens said. "Everybody wants to make a big deal, that this is the team he built. It doesn’t matter. ... My thing is give credit to Wade (that's Phillips). The difference between Wade and Parcells is this: Parcells, he didn’t use me as a playmaker; Wade, he got the staff, and that’s what I’m being used as.

"Plain and simple, without trying to be negative or anything. I’m being used as a playmaker, and as I said, the proof is in the pudding."

Then, things swung right back to Key, and his willingness to toss a couple verbal stones. And the idea that Johnson is Parcells' mouthpiece.

"Those guys are probably talking about me, chopping it up, drinking coffee," Owens said. "They can have their little pity party and talk about me all day long. It doesn’t bother me. There’s a lot of people on the ESPN panel and across the country that has observed what has happened this year vs. last year. And there’s a lot of people that just don’t want to give credit for what Wade has does and what wasn’t done last year. That’s it. I’m not trying to be negative."

And now the clock starts ... I just can't wait for T-Mac to weigh on in.
Terrell's 100% dead on. Keychain's been bitter since Dallas cut him and it was obvious they cut him to bring in Terrell. Bitter bitter bitter.

As for this whole "Tuna's Team." Anybody can build a team. Heck, Dan Snyder can build a team... It takes a that something extra to make it work: Phillips has done that.

What does it say that virtually the same team has done so much better under Phillips than under Parcells? What does it say that Phillips' 3-4 has taken better advantage of the players' ability than under Parcells? What does it say that virtually the same offense can carry the team; something not likely under Parcells.

It says a lot about Wade Phillips' abilities as a coach and very little about Parcells'.

So true.

I'm far from the biggest T.O fan, but he's right on this one. Key is a joke, and his caddy act with Parcells is borderline creepy.

The only thing T.O. should have mentioned is Key being thrown off the team by Gruden. That one doesn't ever get mentioned when Key is bashing on T.O. for being a bad teammate.
my thought's exactly;)
