It is exactly what he's trying to say in a roundabout way. But I think you can overcome the exhaustion. You were able to defend TO for months without giving up.

I think that was me. Get it right. :D

Desean Jackson made him look like a rookie in the last game of the season and he wants to talk about this? Clean up your kitchen before you start sweeping up in mine TNEW.

Exactly!!!

Newman was flat out raped by a rookie in the last game of the season and he is now talking crap about Romo's performance???

Hey TNEW, shut the hell up and learn how to cover a rookie before pointing fingers at others. We used to have a safety that would point fingers and unless you want to end up like he did, then shut the hell up!!!

Thats not the point and I love Newman, the point is he knocking players and coaches down but he has things to work on himself. From his constant whining in the media you would think he plays a perfect game or he never gives up catches. You guys blast Roy for pointing the finger but Newman does it(specifically when he did it against Pat Watkins and Brian Stewart through the media) he somehow gets a pass for it.

I would love to keep Newman but the constant crabbing needs to stop. Or does he need to be reminded that he is an above 30 year old corner that has been hurt in back to back seasons and his replacements are already with the ballclub.

Where trying to become a team that doesn't backstab eachother but it seems like the release of TO has him in a tizzy. It's simple, either get on board or get the hell of the ship. Stop crying and start trying. Don't talk to the media about leadership, become one, that all I'm saying.

This is just further proof that the members of the media are self-serving trouble makers.

TO was not a problem, and neither is Newman.

Stop giving the media more power than they deserve, which is none.

I think the whole problem is that some of our players are dumb arses and didnt connect the dots.

Lets try this again.

TO gone
Tank gone
Pacman gone
Roy38 gone
Ellis being shopped

Do you get the picture yet Newman??? Keep yapping about Romo and you will be the next one added to that list.

I ask you to please watch the video before jumping off the cliffs...

Video: http://www.wfaa.com/video/?z=y&nvid=339850

The video is good, especially the part when the interview was interrupted by the phone call lol.

One of the obvious things missing here is the Question asked. How do you know the context of what is being said without the proper question.

Interviewer: "Troy Aikman says that Tony hasn't fully grasped what being the Cowboys quarterback is really about. In your opinion, is he wrong when he says that?"

Newman: "I think that with the situation that Tony was in, I think it hurt him a little bit. Being a first year starter and having a girlfriend limelight situation. It's going to take away from him being a successful quarterback. He won 13 games and everything was perfect, but now after this past season it's 'is he doing enough', 'is he working hard enough', 'hes got a girlfriend.' Once he inherited the starting quarterback job, and his relationship got into the national media attention, I think that it was something that hurt and took away from Romo being a great quarterback."

I don't think the blog portrays what was said accurately. He is referring to the negative media attention.

The major leap the blog takes is this:

I do believe this post was ignored by the majority of posters in this thread. Those posters really should watch the video. He is not bashing Romo like they claim.

But opinions most likely won't change.

Good point. If people would use their brain and listen to the question and the context of the question, it should be clear that Terence Newman was talking about Romo's ability to lead.

This is poor journalism. Isn't this old news?

Terence Newman was asked a question about Tony Romo's leadership and Troy Aikman's remarks were brought up in the question. Aikman was critical of Romo for not taking into account the importance of perception when it comes to being the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. (Ex. Taking trips to Cabo with your famous girlfriend.) Bill Parcells warned Romo about being a "celebrity quarterback". That stuff can be used against you, and if your teammates buy into it, you are in trouble. Newman is talking about "that stuff' being used against Tony Romo in the media. Aikman talked about the same thing. Perception matters when you are trying to lead a football team.

Newman agreed with Aikman and said that kind of stuff can affect your ability to "quarterback". Newman didn't use the word "lead", but he was clearly talking about the leadership aspect of being a quarterback. Just read the question.

Furthermore, Newman expressed his confidence in Romo's ability to be a strong leader. That is hardly throwing him under the bus.

This is the case of a journalist trying to create division on your team and setting up a few Terence Newman bashers who love to make him a human pinata for some reason. Either that or he's trying to make "news". Either way, he's trying to paint one of your very best players in a poor light. He needs to be smarter than this and listen to the context of the question.

Bill Parcells stated that Ternence Newman was one of Dallas' very, very best players. He's an elite player whether some want to give him credit or not.

I just watched it. I've changed my mind. He wasn't taking a shot at The Girlfriend.

I still wish he had explicitly stated that it was the media's fault.

He needs to take the refresher course on Bull Durham cliche speak.

Yeah Newman, get it straight bucko!!

Tony Romo didn't gave up 2 long TD runs to Baltimore: THAT hurt the team.

Tony Romo didn't fumble the ball at the 4 yard line versus Philadelphia and have it returned: THAT hurt the team.

Tony Romo didn't throw 6INTs and lose 3 fumbles and have a QB Rating of 67.8 in the last 4 games when the team's playoff hopes were on the line...oh wait...n/m.

I wish people would stop making excuses for Romo and start admitting that he, being the QB, needs to elevate his game more than anybody else on the team...*HE* needs to be the example everybody else looks up to. He needs to be the leader.

I gave Newman a very hard time over the weekend.

But he proved to me today that he's dumber than I gave him credit for.
