Double Trouble;2692029 said:It is exactly what he's trying to say in a roundabout way. But I think you can overcome the exhaustion. You were able to defend TO for months without giving up.

Goldenrichards83;2691982 said:Thats not the point and I love Newman, the point is he knocking players and coaches down but he has things to work on himself. From his constant whining in the media you would think he plays a perfect game or he never gives up catches. You guys blast Roy for pointing the finger but Newman does it(specifically when he did it against Pat Watkins and Brian Stewart through the media) he somehow gets a pass for it.
I would love to keep Newman but the constant crabbing needs to stop. Or does he need to be reminded that he is an above 30 year old corner that has been hurt in back to back seasons and his replacements are already with the ballclub.
Where trying to become a team that doesn't backstab eachother but it seems like the release of TO has him in a tizzy. It's simple, either get on board or get the hell of the ship. Stop crying and start trying. Don't talk to the media about leadership, become one, that all I'm saying.
I'm glad you're finally seeing clearly.Rampage;2692066 said:doesn't make a difference to me. we're still far away from the bowl imo.

Video: http://www.wfaa.com/video/?z=y&nvid=339850
The video is good, especially the part when the interview was interrupted by the phone call lol.
One of the obvious things missing here is the Question asked. How do you know the context of what is being said without the proper question.
Interviewer: "Troy Aikman says that Tony hasn't fully grasped what being the Cowboys quarterback is really about. In your opinion, is he wrong when he says that?"
Newman: "I think that with the situation that Tony was in, I think it hurt him a little bit. Being a first year starter and having a girlfriend limelight situation. It's going to take away from him being a successful quarterback. He won 13 games and everything was perfect, but now after this past season it's 'is he doing enough', 'is he working hard enough', 'hes got a girlfriend.' Once he inherited the starting quarterback job, and his relationship got into the national media attention, I think that it was something that hurt and took away from Romo being a great quarterback."
I don't think the blog portrays what was said accurately. He is referring to the negative media attention.
The major leap the blog takes is this:

But opinions most likely won't change.

I just watched it. I've changed my mind. He wasn't taking a shot at The Girlfriend.DallasFanSince86;2692177 said:I do believe this post was ignored by the majority of posters in this thread. Those posters really should watch the video. He is not bashing Romo like they claim.

Tony Romo didn't gave up 2 long TD runs to Baltimore: THAT hurt the team.
Tony Romo didn't fumble the ball at the 4 yard line versus Philadelphia and have it returned: THAT hurt the team.
Tony Romo didn't throw 6INTs and lose 3 fumbles and have a QB Rating of 67.8 in the last 4 games when the team's playoff hopes were on the line...oh wait...n/m.
I wish people would stop making excuses for Romo and start admitting that he, being the QB, needs to elevate his game more than anybody else on the team...*HE* needs to be the example everybody else looks up to. He needs to be the leader.
