When Martellus Bennett was at an event to raise diabetes awareness earlier in the week and joked before a little girl threw him a pass that, "I hope she's not Tony Romo cause I won't get the ball,'' it raised awareness about the rapport between the two. Here are some interesting numbers.

Bennett caught 12 passes for 155 yards in the pre-season. But guess how many of those passes were thrown by Romo?

Two. When Bennett shined during the pre-season it was against second-team defenses with Jon Kitna throwing him the ball. The pre-season tally:

From Kitna _ 10-131 yards
From Romo _ 2-24 yards

Bennett's four catches for 40 yards so far this regular season is low. But when you look at it through the context of what happened during the pre-season, it's not shocking.

what I don't get is the Romo to Roy connection. it's not like Miles Austin was wide open on any of those passes Tony threw to him in KC. why can't he do that with Roy?

Hopefully, now that people have to pay attention to Miles, things will open up for Roy. Like you say, Rampage, Roy doesn't have to be wide open to go get the ball. After what Miles did on Sunday, maybe Romo will trust his guys more.

As far as Martellus, it doesn't seem like Romo even looks his way, but we don't know everything that's going on out there.

Makes on wonder what the true cause is.

Is it the level of competition? Is Bennett not getting open like he did against second-stringers?

Is it the fact that he's one the field with Witten more and Witten is getting open more rgularly?

Is it Romo? Does he not trust Bennett (similar to how he never trusted Fasano)?

Regardless of the true reason, I think this is something that needs to change. Romo and the offense need to get Bennett more involved so that opposing defenses respect the threat of having him out there. Otherwise I feel it's advantage defense.

Absolutely. We said all along that Marty B and Felix were the X Factors for this offense.

Without them, our lack of WR's will be exposed. Thankfully Miles Austin stepped up big last game, but we cant count on him the entire year.

We NEED Marty B and Felix to play well to get this offense really going.

And to think, we're still ranked No. 1 in offense.

Because he was drawing secret plays with Whitten and Miley on Saturday night.

Marty has to grow up off and on the field: when he does, he'll be a factor. Just an overrated tease right now.

My son does that dance. He does it after he grabs a flag in flag football. He practices it before games. He is 7. We play Cowboys this weekend (we are the bears)... cant wait to dial up some plays. They are 6-0, and we are 5-1.

And of course I am da urb..... so I will have the schematic advantage.

certainly has been surprising how little we have used Bennett especially with all the talk about how much we use the "2 TE set". we have no receiving threats other than witten who can constantly get open, so romo needs to start trusting his receiving threats just like he trusted miles this last sunday.

Lol.. no.

Coach sons flag football team in Indy. We are dangerous and my plays are constantly trying to be stolen by opposing coaches.

Son is my QB. Ill post our team picture when they get in this week.

Been siting in the cube all day drawing up my schemes and gameplan. They have to first graders who look like 5th graders. They have no lateral quickness so Charlie will expose them.

This! I wouldn't throw the ball to him either.

The reason Bennett hasn't produced isn't because Romo hasn't thrown to him, it's because he hasn't caught most of the passes thrown to him. Romo has thrown 11 passes to Bennett. He has caught just four of them. By comparison, Witten has been targeted 33 times and has caught 28 of them.

Tony threw him a fade in the end zone.

As part of his route, Martellus decided he would do a spin move.

Yeah, I would be hesitant about even looking his way after that, too.

Yeah, I think the reason Romo is hesitant to look toward Marty is because he's messed up several times where he was supposed to be.

They should give him a few plays to go over in practice time and again so that he knows them for sure come Sunday. Then, at least there will be a few plays to him where he would be in the right spot.

The NFL of the future will be sad indeed. Seven year olds allowed to practice post play antics fortell a league of me first athletes.

Roy's long strides make it appear as if he's running slower than he is, which is why QBs have thrown behind him a lot. Gotta work on the timing.

Romo has enough excuses. If he continues to force balls into deep coverage, like it's a punt, than he better start trusting his WRs and TEs to make plays..
