Victor Butler made the biggest play in Sunday's game that not many people have talked about with his 1-yard sack/trip of Donovan McNabb just as the Philly quarterback appeared to be breaking free for at least a first down run if not a big, big, big pickup.
It was Butler's third sack of the season, which is the second most among rookies. Only Washington's Brian Orakpo has more at 5.5. And Butler has played a whopping 38 snaps.
That's three sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and one tackle in 38 snaps. That's pretty productive.
Anthony Spencer does not have a sack in nearly 500 snaps but he does have 16 pressures. I understand sacks are not the end all, be all but maybe it's time to give Butler some third-down work.
Clearly the coaches do not trust him enough in the base defense or else he would play more than just under five snaps a game so far. I think Spencer has played much better of late but he still has to get to the passer. Come to think of it, DeMarcus Ware's five sacks seem even better when the guy on the other side is still looking for his first sack.
