Predictions are crap.

Last year, most anlayst had us going to the SB and we did not even make the playoffs.

This year, most analyst are predicting 8-8, give or take a game. It is all just speculation.


As for Emmitt, his "diamond surrounded by trash" comment will forever place him below Aikman and Irvin with most fans.

Tony Romo's reaction to being ripped by seven-win-predicting Emmitt Smith: So what?

"People outside of this locker room, they don't affect this football team," Romo said. "We've really narrowed our focus. We don't have time to discuss what different people might be saying or talking about our team, because it really doesn't come out any way. It's about the game. It's about beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"This week, we'll be able to go out and hopefully improve and get better. All we can do is do that. Whatever people might say or might not say, that's for those people to talk about. But all we think about is the game and getting better today."

I considered this headline: "Wade Phillips and Tony Romo not on same page about Emmitt's comments," but I'll take it easy on the Cowboys as long as they're undefeated.

Everyone is making such a big deal about what Emmitt said. I happen to disagree with him but he can state his opinion and shouldn't be ripped for it. No one knows what will happen this season and if we have a spate of injuries like we did last year we could end up 7-9 anyway.

McMahon is just another mediot dying to stir up SOME controversy about the Cowboys because Cowboys' news sells. The team, and Romo in particular, have done a great job of not giving them anything to bite on. His headline is a pathetic attempt to stir the pot by making it look as if Romo is directly spitting in Emmitt's eye but all Romo said is that it doesn't matter what ANYONE outside the locker room says about the team, it only matters what the guys currently ON the team say and think.
