Wes Phillips, a quality control coach on offense, talked to his father, Wade, last on Tuesday and said his father is "doing as good as he can be."

"My prediction is he gets a defensive coordinator job with a team that has a bad defense and a poor team and they go win a bunch of games and kick ***," Wes said. "That's what he's done my whole life. I don't expect any different."

I dont think any of us would be shocked to see Wade go to another team and turn around their defense. He is a good defensive coordinator he just has no business being a HC.

Wade will coach again, just not as a head coach. There was always questions about if he could actually be a successful head coach. There are no questions now. He can't.

What team is going to get so blue they want to grapple with Wade? The game... has passed... him by... what about our defense this year makes anyone want to hire Wade? He isn't here any more, we can take off the beer goggles and see that this year was a disaster for Wade as head coach AND as defensive coordinator.

Follow-up question for this, then...

What's the harm, if any, in luring him from Green Bay with a hefty raise (like the one Garrett received from Jerry to keep him from turning down the Baltimore/Atlanta Head Coaching offers) and by throwing in a token "Assistant Head Coach" position in order to get it done?

So why would you want Wade to be Green Bay's DC if Capers will most likely still be there?

Unless we named Capers DC/Assistant Head Coach like we had with Garrett.
